Description:

1960 Porsche 356 leather

1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet. Aetna Blue with Grey leather interior. 2017 full concours winner (San Marino Motor Classic, all 356 class); second in full concours class to the car we beat in San Marino at the 356 Club of Southern California's annual concours, (the largest judged 356 concours in the world, with judges from all over the U.S.); both cars beating the car that won the PCA Parade two weeks prior. The car scored 297.3 points out of 300. Comprehensive restoration of literally every nut and bolt. Restoration documented and explained on the 356 Registry's website ( porsche356registrydotorg) under Forums, then Projects, then '60 Cab Project.

49 miles on the engine and drivetrain. Rebuilt transmission by trans ace Dick Aubele, engine by Larry Markham. New brake linings, shoes, splines, axles, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder. All new wheel bearings and races. Engine has counterbalanced crank, balanced rotating assembly, late rods, new Neutek S90/SC/912 cam, Heads with unshrouded intakes by Harry Bieker (done in the mid '90's, and redone by us), new aluminum oil cooler, new clutch and pressure plate, new Shasta big-bore cylinders with new 9.25 J/E pistons, all standard dimensions, rebuilt Zenith's, Leistritz muffler, all dressed up to appear as a '60 Normal, but likely well over 100 hp.

New day/night mirror, new clock, new top in correct material. Instruments restored at North Hollywood Speedometer. New brake lines and fuel lines, including in the tunnel, as well as speedometer, tach, heater, and emergency brake cables. Clear California title; originally this was titled in Washington state with the engine number as the VIN, but we have corrected this.

Originally Ivory with black. We debated the aspects of a color change at length, and decided that it had to be a color that was available that year. Final color choice was down to Ivory, Aetna Blue, and Slate Grey, but the color swatches we had made it an easy choice. Our engine has a 912 case with machine work done at Competition Engineering. We have been in contact with the holder of our car's original engine case, but we can't be sure that we can make a fully matching numbers car (or at least have the case) by the time of sale.

A true #1 car; coming off a fresh and extremely comprehensive restoration, it drives like a brand new 356 should.
