1964 Pontiac GTO --

During the early 1960's, Pontiac Performance became a household name as their massive big iron, high horsepower Catalina's dominated the drag strips during weekend bracket racing events. The next logical step was the GTO. The formula for the GTO was simple: Big engine plus a midsize car equals muscle car. The GTO, introduced in 1964, is a direct result of the "Horse Power Wars" of the early 60's and represented the first mass marketed mid-sized car with a high horsepower...motor. Pontiacs perseverance pushed all other companies to keep up; the GTO marked the beginning of the Muscle Car Era. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this stunning 1964 GTO for your consideration. Finished in Cameo Ivory, this GTO is numbers matching and was fully restored using all NOS parts. Tons of documents and receipts are provided with the car that speaks to its originality and condition. A copy of the window stick is included which shows the car was sold new in Glendale, Arizona. The car was optioned with a number of options such as tinted glass, seat belts, bucket seats, air conditioning, center console, power brakes, automatic transmission, power steering, dual horns, and a radio. The car is in fabulous shape inside and out, and is one of the nicest examples we have seen. The exterior has great paint, factory hubcaps, redline tires, dual exhaust, and dual mirrors. The interior features extremely clean blue upholstery, and everything looks factory fresh. Highlights include a tachometer, aftermarket wooden steering wheel, and bucket seats with center locking console. The car features a 389cid V8 with Tri-Power triple carburetors mated to a torque converter automatic transmission. The car runs and drives extremely well and is a true investment piece. The GTOs are some of the most desirable muscle cars of all time and this GTO is sure to impress. It comes with the original set of keys, as well as the jack, spare, and original steering wheel.
