Description:

1957 Plymouth Fury

1957 Plymouth Fury - Best in the world?

Up for sale is this rare Plymouth Fury in true #1 show condition. This car was rotisserie restored in 2008 and has traveled only eight miles since that time. The car was the perfect candidate for that type of high-end restoration, being completely intact and original when it was bought from the original owner in 2006, after 49 years of caring ownership. All mechanical components are original to the car, including the motor, it is matching numbers per the Chrysler Historical Services record, which is included and shown below. Other paperwork includes factory brochures and manuals, the original warranty card, purchase receipt, a copy of the original title and build sheet, as well as a photo album chronicling the restoration.
The restoration was done with an eye towards strict originality, and the workmanship is absolutely first rate everywhere you look. I have over 140 photos below, look for my comments along the way, describing this "better than new" Fury.

The finish and details on this car can only be described as "automotive jewelry". They actually look even better in person.

BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls in 8.00-14.

Beautiful glass, chrome, trim, etc...

The body is arrow straight, the paintwork is flawless.

The plating work on both bumpers is impressive.

All lights and lenses are like new.

The interior was completely redone, built back up from a bare painted shell using the correct materials.

Push button Torque-Flite transmission.

Photos from the restoration show the odometer at 87,285.

Plaque with the original owner's name.

318 'Poly' V8 with dual Carter 4bbls putting out 290hp, an eye-opener in 1957.
The motor starts instantly and runs strong. Every mechanical component on this car was rebuilt.

Automotive art.

Matching numbers.

The undercarriage looks just like what's above it - perfection.

Same show quality paint as above.
