Description:

1970 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe

Up for sale is my all original 1970 Plymouth Barracuda gran coupe. This isn't your ordinary barracuda. the cuda had a 340 engine or larger including the 383 with the 4 barrel. However, on the gran coupe the highest engine option available was the 383 4 barrel which is pretty rare to find. This one is an automatic which makes it a 1 of only 732 made with that drive train. Even rarer it has a bunch of options including Air conditioning. after doing research it is believed that less than 100 had the drivetrain and AC like this one not to mention the rest of the options and color combo. You can get Galen's age Service to find the exact number out for you. I just never got around to it.The color combo on this car is gorgeous once restored. Burnt Orange metallic exterior with a white top and white/black interior. Those colors together on an e body really pop. I really really wanted to keep this car, but I found my dream car and now this must go to help pay that off. The car is all numbers matching body and drivetrain. I bought this car from the original owner who was and still is the owner of an orange farm in Sanger, CA. He had bought the car when he was 18 and drove it to school and back explaining the fresno state parking stickers on the rear bumper. eventually the car had a bad voltage regulator and was parked since 1976 as the last sticker reads on the original license plates. That explains why the car also has ONLY 23,660 original miles.Sadly the owner parked the car in an area not covered for a number of years with the window left a crack open. This let water rust some of the floor boards. In my opinion the floors are mostly solid howeverI feel media blasting the car would leave the two rear passnger floors thin and would be safe to assume they would need replacing. The front driver side floor looks like it would be good. and the front passnger floor has some rust so that would need replacing. The rest of the floor board areas are in great shape. It is just the areas here the rain water would sit. also the lower quarters got rusty from being left out. One of the owner's farm workers tried breaking into the car and damaged the trunk latch so water also got in when it rained so the trunk floor will need replacing. But being a California car the frame and the rest of the car is solid. The car has clear signs of being in the sun because the door panels are dry/toasted but those are usually replaced anyway. the car was eventually moved into a covered area and the owners sister backed into it one day explaining the dent on the driver side door and part of the quarter panel. The car is overall solid but does need some body work, luckily it is a Californiacar so the body work it does need is fairlyeasy to repair. The car is loaded with options. car has disk brakes, center console, slap stick automatic, rallye gauges. air conditioning, all around light greenish tinted glass, has all the extras as far as moldings and trim, both side sport chrome racing mirrors, rear speakers, upper overhead console with the low fuel, sea belts, door ajar warning lights, map light, trunk light, magnum 500 wheels, 8 3/4 rear end, heavy duty suspension package, front sway bar, dual exhuasts, bucket seats with inserts, woodgrain steering wheel, 383 4 barrel, etc. This car was loaded with options to be like the cuda and more with the same horsepower, while having it be the higher end model Gran Coupe barracuda. I am also including a cuda twin buldge hood with the inserts . There is no build sheet as in 1970 the LA plant was not putting build sheets because of a ''no trash'' policy they had at the time. Engine turns over but the rats got to the witing under the hood and I couldn't quite figure out the exact way to reconnect it all. im not great with wiring. Considering the low miles car engineshould be great. There is a link to photobucket for more pictures.
