Up for sell is a rare opportunity to own a rotisserie restoration of a 1958 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible. A lot has been invested in this build and comes from one of the nicest collection in the world "The John Staluppi Collection" Car sold for $107,250 at the RM Sotheby's Auction
270 bhp, 371 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, coil spring independent front suspension, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 123.0 in.
Equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, a power seat, a power top, a rear seat speaker, a Wonderbar signal-seeking AM radio, windshield washers, an electric clock, and fender skirts, this car easily demonstrates why the entry-level series deserves the title "Dynamic 88.”
This striking Dynamic 88 Convertible has been the recipient of a body-off restoration. It was imperative the car remained original. The frame was completely disassembled, sand blasted, power coated, and painted. During the restoration process it received all new mounts, new door seals, all new chrome pieces, new windows, new weather stripping, all new lights, bumpers, grill, inner fenders, all new bolts and nuts all around. Attractive in red over white, it has red-and-white Moroccan leather-like original "OEM style" vinyl upholstery and a white vinyl top with a matching boot cover. Body contours, paint, and chrome are all excellent, as is the windshield.
The undercarriage is exceptional and well detained. The black paint on the chassis has correct chalk inspection marks, and the underbody is in a contrasting red oxide primer. The engine compartment is sanitary and well detailed; the Rocket engine is in appropriate gold paint. The trunk has correct plaid vinyl lining, and the B.F. Goodrich 8.50-14 whitewall spare appears new.
Always garaged, never abused, babied all the way. A great investment for any collector that can be enjoyed on the road as its value keeps increasing every day. A lot of time and money has been spent on this Oldsmobile please see all the pictures and look closely at all the little details that were paid attention to.
This car is in superb condition and very comfortable & pleasant to be in. The Body is straight as an arrow. All doors, hood are all aligned like they should. Incredible amount of attention, and detail as been placed in this car.
