My story begins with this original beautiful 1957 Oldsmobile 98 Starfire Holiday Hardtop, purchased on April 19,1957 by Charles W. Helm of Rocky Hill, CT at Dolan Oldsmobile in Worchester, Mass. Serial #579B03509, engine # A236239. He ordered the the car with the following options as proven by the original build tag found under the rear seat. The following were standard on a 98 Holiday Hardtop Sedan. Power Brakes, power steering,
electric clock, electric window lifts, parking brake signal, windshield washer, rear ashtray cigar lighter.
Optional Items ordered by owner:
D1- Power antenna
Q -Anti-freeze
X2- Deluxe Stainless Spinner wheel discs
OP-Oversize White sidewall tires 900 X 14 (5)
I -Tinted glass (EZ-Eye)
U1-4 way electric seat adjuster (Does not go forward or reverse or up an down but motor works)
Color code-94-94-60-94 Special Order Jade Mist Metallic with accent stripe in Alcan White
Interior code -337 Ivory Leather & Medium green pattern Cloth

The Olds was owned by Mr. Helm for around 10 years and then sold to Einar Chidmark, who at the time was the
chief photographer for the Hartford times and brother in law of Mr.Helm. He owned the car for about 8 years and upon his death in 1976, Robert Hellstrom and Oldsmobile car collector from Connecticut purchased it and enjoyed it for another 30 years before selling to me in 2006.
I have a photo of the original owner and have all documentation on this vehicle also a color photo of the car back in 1957 at Yellowstone park with a bear at the window of the car. Real neat.
I do not have the title for this car. Connecticut is a non titled state prior to 1981. The car is insured and
registered current in the state of Connecticut. Have alot of paper work as to what was done to the car
and ownership ect.

This one of the nicest most original 1957 Oldsmobiles I know of. Always been here in Connecticut. Car is all
original except the painting of the engine, new camshaft, lifters, timing gear, pushrods. Has 95 % of its original paint. Runs super nice. Car has been in Hemmings Classic Car April 2007 article, Hemmings old car calender 2015, numerous books also. Have driven this to Hershey 3 times and it has it badge HPOF and Original HPOF from AACA. Numerous awards and trophies. Car has 117,000 original miles. Has PS,PB,PSEATS,PW,Wonderbar AM/FM conversion. Power antenna, working clock. Car color is Jade Mist. New wheel cylinders all around, new brake booster, new lower balljoints. Also has bran new correct Coker white walls that look factory correct. Everybody knows this car here in the Oxford area. Car drives and runs like a new Oldsmobile. Very hard for me to let this go but it is time. May possibly bring this car to Hershey. This is a must see car.
Only serious buyer .
