Description:

1957 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight --

Award-worthy paint, custom leather interior, fully independent sports suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, six-speed automatic, and a modern 6.2-liter supercharged V8 under the hood â€" this 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 is a stunning one-of-a-kind that's so unique and powerful that it cannot escape the spotlight. This is the golden era of post-WWII cars, and this custom Olds shows it perfectly. You can see some of lineage to the iconic Tri-Five Chevys in details like the fenders and the sexy... dip in the doorline. But Oldsmobile was also free to have a style all its own. Great details like the globe emblems, artful tailfins, and three-piece rear window. And of course, there's nothing that can beat the chrome on these. The shining front bumper with extra-wide grille; form-fitting rear bumper that flows right into the tailfins; and that beautiful side trim that starts at the vent window and flows all the way down the car. It's these unique classic elements that make for the perfect coupe to revive a full custom transformation. It starts with sheetmetal that has been massaged to concours quality standards. Then a modern piano-like black paint was added so that the gloss could rival the brightwork for shine. And keep inspecting all the details, because the longer you look, the more you'll love this. Even the wheels are a custom-built set that look like factory Olds 88 units, but they are a larger 18-inch set. And through the silts, you can see the red brake calipers that coordinate with the side trim â€" yes, they have been that thoughtful all around this build! Open the door to a full custom interior. The black with red accenting is continued on the inside. So it looks terrific when all the windows of this pillarless hardtop are down and you can show off this fully coordinated package. As you look over the whole interior, you can see the complete elements of a second-generation Cadillac CTS-V, a nice hint at where some of the other upgrades are borrowed. This thoroughly modern vehicle has been expertly integrated in this classic. You see it best on the Cadillac's Recaro front seats that have been custom transformed, right down to the red stitching in the leather and the embedded Olds 88 emblems. In fact, they even improved on the Caddy's plastics by replacing them with a three-color mosaic panels for a truly custom premium touch. This has all the comfort amenities of a modern Cadillac, so that includes power seats, power windows, heated front seats, cooled seats, power locks, keyless entry, cruise control, power steering, and dual zone climate control with air conditioning. Cadillac's pop-up infotainment system with satellite radio, USB input, satellite navigation, backup camera, and much more was one of the coolest in the industry. So we're thrilled to see it included in the full updated interior. And because this is a true driver's Cadillac, you even get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, full gauge panel, and head-up display â€" all enclosed around this classic '57 Olds body! As much as you'll love showing off the interior and exterior, it's the motor that will really draw all the crowds. Under the hood is the 6.2-liter supercharged LSA engine that made the Cadillac CTS-V famous. It even has a custom red bracer bar and custom mosaic engine cover to coordinate with the rest of the car. This mighty motor makes 556 horsepower right out of the box, and it's now been tuned to over 600hp! That would be a handful for a standard Olds Super 88, and so that's why the rest of the modern CTS-V was transplanted to this one, too. It includes upgrades such as the six-speed automatic transmission and the CTS-V coupe center-exit dual exhaust. The undercarriage photos show you that the subframes from the CTS-V were also expertly integrated. That means a fully-independent sports suspension with magnetic ride control and Brembo four-wheel disc brakes! You know you're going to want to show this one off, and so the sale comes with the right documentation, including build receipts, owner's manual, restoration photos, and the dyno sheet. With so much to go over, there's not enough space to list this bumper-to-bumper custom build. But we've got all the info, so hurry and give us a call before the best custom you'll ever see goes into new hands!
