Selling my 1961 Nash Metropolitan. We've enjoyed this car for the past 2+ years, but it's time to free up some space in the garage for another project!
This Nash is in great condition, and it runs like a champ! It starts up every time, even after sitting for a few weeks. No drain on the battery! The motor runs quiet, steering is great, brakes stop confidently. All lights are in working condition. It is road worthy right now, no work required. It is a perfect sunday driver! The bench seat and 3 on the tree transmission make it a great car for your special someone to cuddle up against you. The car has a low top speed, so it's not highway worthy, but can easily keep up on surface streets.
This car has the original I4 motor and 3 speed, it has no power modifications. It is rust free.
Interior - 9/10Paint - 9/10Mechanics - 10/10
Now onto the flaws! No car is perfect, especially not a 56 year old car! The paint code for this specific car was Mardigras Red (P913) and the previous owner before us had the car repainted Coral Red (P911). So if you're looking for a 100% original restoration this car's not for you. The doors need to be realigned, they are hitting on the door jams and scraping off paint. The cardboard behind the door panels is original and has some waffle in it, doesn't bother me but might bother others. The soft top is in good condition still, its the original top, but 3 of the buttons when the top is up are missing.
So yeah the car is not in perfect condition, there is some room for improvement, but that's what makes classics so fun!
