Description:

1980 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series

Car is a 1982 or 1983 depending on how you read the build date. Ebay won't accept the euro vin.
Runs and drives well. Cold AC. Nice black leather interior.
Car has some rust that is not beyond repair. Drive it as is or restore it. and there are mild vibrations in the front end over 60 mph that mean the front end should be rebuilt. I replaced the tierods with new ones, but suspect the caster box and other suspension components should also be rebuilt soon. The car was also pretty clearly repainted without a few areas being properly treated for rust. The car had sideskirts that hid the rust in the rockers. I've since removed anything that would capture moisture, and the rust seems to have mostly stopped in its tracks. There appears to be some bondo around the rear wheel wells that should probably be all ground out and replaced with metal and treated properly. All windows work and the sunroof work, but the drivers window seems to need to be glued back to the regulator, because if you do not push it down while lowering the window, it will come off the track. Also, the car idles well, but the idle air control valve is disconnected.
Contact me for videos of the car running, and videos of the underside.

On Jun-24-19 at 08:07:22 PDT, seller added the following information:

The ebay search doesn't seem to be finding this car. It is a June 1982 Built Euro 500sec Mercedes Benz Coupe with VIN: WDB1204412002316
So I may have to cancel bids and start over. Sorry.
While adding comments, I will try to link in some Youtube videos, and maybe some additional pictures.
Additional information:- Clear coat is has failed on the trunk lid and surrounding areas.- The rear window does not appear to have any delamination.
- There is no rust around the rear window.- There is no rust in the floor pans (only the rockers, around the rear wheel wells, and some around the front wheels)- The passenger seat belt presenter never extends.
