For sale is a 1985 Mercedes 300D, Fred Flintstone edition.
The good: Runs and drives great. It was my daily driver for four years. Everything works aside from the cruise control. Engine cranks every time and doesn't burn a drop of oil. Oil changed religiously using only Rotella. Transmission shifts smoothly and solidly into every gear. Brand new 15" ASA wheels with new tires (less than 1k miles on them). Clear GA title. Cosmetically it shows its age but it's 'okay'.
The bad: Rather high mileage at 274,000. Back left window regulator is starting to skip (replacement regulator is included in sale).
The ugly: No need to flee screaming in fear...included in the sale is a brand new complete passenger-side floor pan front and rear section (see pic). This is because the car's passenger-side floor pan is completely gone at the rear due to rot. I've trimmed away most of it (see pic). There is also rot along both rear quarters and underneath near the trunk. The passenger side seat is included and is in good shape, along with all of the trim pieces needed for the right side (pictured).
It would be a crying shame to part it out but there are plenty of original parts if you choose that route.For what it's worth I'd actually have no problem taking the car on an extended road trip. I trust it totally, it just needs someone with better welding skills than myself to weld the pan into place and make it whole again. Once you do, you have a great car.
Included in the sale IF you want them: The original Hella headlights and side markers, and the original bundt cake 14" rims (4). You're not required to take these.
