Description:

1985 Mazda RX-7 GS

This 1985 Mazda RX7 with the 12a rotary was a barn find, which is believed to have sat for around 10 years. In the process of getting it running, I have done the following:
• Replaced fuel pump
• Replaced distributor boot, rotor, cap
• Replaced spark plugs & wires
• Replaced ignition coils
• Replaced intake manifold & gaskets
• Rebuilt vacuum system
• Rebuilt brake calipers
• Flushed coolant system
After the above work, the vehicle ran fairly well. I was able to take it on some test drives, and eventually a ~100 mile drive to my current residence, where it has sat since.
Currently, it has a few issues that still need to be addressed. It has throttle lag such that revving past ~2000 rpm is very difficult. This problem was always present but, after sitting for another several months, it's so bad that it's undrivable. It can be coaxed into revving past, but it's not possible to accelerate from a stop. As such, the vehicle will not drive under its own power (THE VEHICLE WILL NEED TO BE TRAILERED IF PURCHASED).
It also has a leaking master clutch cylinder. It'll hold fluid for around a week, but seeps into the cabin over time. The tires are very old and would need to be replaced. It also has some cosmetic issues including fading paint in places, a missing trim piece on the interior, etc. It was started and ran as explained as of June 25th.
This was originally a project car, but I am no longer interested in investing time and money into it. I think it would make a great project for someone who is willing to put in the work to finish it up. It's a very unique car that was a lot of fun to drive for the short amount of time that I did.
NOTES:
The car will need to be trailered. It cannot be driven away under its own power. Buyer is responsible for arranging transportation of the vehicle.
