Description:

1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL

FOR SALE! 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL. A great candidate to use for its hard to find parts or for restoration. This car was owned locally by the same owner for the past 15 years. It was his baby. About 3-4 years ago, (thats what he said, maybe longer?) it would not start so it was put on blocks. It has not been ran since. He is moving across the country so its time for this car to move on to the next chapter in its life!
The car is complete as shown. The odometer shows 130,493 miles. It has a clear title and keys. The body is straight and not bad. The clear coat is lifting on the roof and hood. It has a small rust hole on the front passengers side of the hood. Otherwise, it is not bad! (see pics, I have more I can email upon request)
Car does not run and has not been ran in a few years. The engine it not frozen and we did turn it over by hand but assume it needs to be rebuilt. (consider it a bonus if it does not) It has a 4-speed manual transmission. You can smell old gas near the rear of the car.
Interior is complete and looks respectable. I took a number of pics. Check them out! The radio is in place and it even has cool RX-7 floor matts! Glass does not have any cracks or breaks.
The original tires were all flat so I took the rims off and had some better tires installed that hold air.
Car looks good overall underneath but the frame looks soft on the front drivers side. (see pics) Otherwise the rest looks ok from what I can see. (I have more pics I can send if needed)
These cars are fast and fun when in driveable condition. Assume this car will need everything from top to bottom or use it for its hard to find parts! These cars will only go UP in value as there seem to be more people out there that want these cool sporty cars from the 1980s than there are cars available!
Car is located in Fond du Lac, WI (approx. 1 hour north of Milwaukee, approx. 2 1/2" hours north of Chicago) You are responsible for pickup. I can gladly help a shipper with loading if necessary. (I can also put you in touch with a local guy who transports cars often but shipping cost and pre inspection is you responsibility)
Car does not run, probably needs brakes and everything you can think of for a car that has not been driven in years.I have not tested anything on the car and have not attempted to start it. I took many pics and have nothing to hide. (assume it needs everything) You may gladly look at the car in person if you like. Car is sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. ASK any questions you may have before you bid. I want you to be happy with your new vintage car purchase!
There is a local shop in my city that does LS Chevy V8 engine conversions on these! Imagine the fun of that!I hope someone out there is willing to give this one a chance and maybe put it on the road again!
Food for thought.... Look how much 1970 Cudas and Shelby Mustangs cost in 1982 then in 1992 and beyond. It may not be a bad investment idea to hide this one in a storage building and not look at it for a decade if you have that option. This could be way better than money in the bank! Just an idea!
