1991 Lotus ELAN M100 M100 ELAN

this is a rare 1991 lotus elan m100. it has been sitting for a couple years as i have not been able to find a mechanic that can figure out why the battery drains completely in two days if it sits. it has leaks as well, but ran fine when the battery didnt drain. it does run hot, the interior is leather and plastic and has definite wear. most of the car has its original parts - i kept it that way because it didnt affect the drivability. the tires are kuhmo, it has has a racing clutch, bucket seats, and the convertible top for it has rarely been used, which cost me $2,000 to order from the UK. i drove it with the turbo on all the time, has a great "whoooosh" sound when you put the clutch in to switch gears. the car gets amazing mileage, i'd say 30+ mpg easily. it's extremely lightweight, made of fiberglass and some parts plastic - allows for extremely quick response out of the gates and in and out of traffic. the car turns like it is on rails.
i really do wish i could find someone to work on this car and get it up and running as i have experienced what it's like to drive it. nothing has come close to it yet for me, and the looks and thumbs ups i got were constant, even with the chipped paint and worn paint on it.
