1989 Land Rover Defender
I am selling my 1989 Lane Rover Defender 110 with 156k miles. It is a right hand drive, 5 speed manual transmission, 4wd, 2.5L Turbo Diesel engine, seats 9 to 10 comfortably but can seat up to 12. The vehicle was legally imported about 4 years ago, I am the 2nd owner since it has been in the USA. The vehicle is in good condition, does have some rust in the usual places on the body. The floor pans and frame rails are in great shape and do not need to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle has been repainted, has a nice safari rack, upgraded front grill and headlights.
Unfortunately, the vehicle will need a to have the engine replaced or rebuilt. The current engine had a rod push through the bottom of the engine will need a new block. It is a great opportunity to get a rebuilt 2.5, or even upgrade to a 200tdi or 300 tdi engine. Also another popular option is to convert it to a gas engine.
The clutch shifts great, no differential noise, and very little leaks. With a running engine, the vehicle is worth between $26,000 to $29,000.
