This Jeep Cherokee has been in our family for 20+ years, spending nearly all of its life in Phoenix, Arizona. The car started shaking recently, and testing shows that two cylinders are not maintaining proper compression. For the last few years, this car has been a part-time second vehicle, mostly used during the summer. We've chosen not to continue repairing the vehicle and instead to sell it as is. The Cherokee has four new tires (our first step in trying to resolve the shaking). The speedometer functions intermittently, but otherwise everything else has always seemed to run well. Setting aside the shaking, especially around 45mph, the car feels like it runs well, but, obviously, given the compression information, requires further testing and likely some significant repair.
