Description:

1987 Jeep Wrangler

It's an 87 Jeep Wrangler YJ 5 speed manual with a straight 6 - 4 WD and 1st works like a granny gear.
It needs a new transmission MAYBE. I say maybe because it could be the clutch pressure plate, which makes more sense since sometimes the gears stay in...and different forks so don't know. That's only about $300 which makes this price BEYOND excellent. A transmission is about $1000 for new...
It goes into all forward gears, not always and no reverse
Shifter is fine, had it off, no metal shavings or wear.
The Jeep is otherwise pretty good. It is original, nothing cut, no plates, no lifts, nothing changed or cut inside. Most of the gauges work, the ones that don't are minor and easily fixed. Needs the rubber replaced around the windshield. Some cosmetics.....
Its been sitting so it needs cleaned up
It's got the 258 straight 6 in it, has a lot of torque, 5 speed manual, gets good gas mileage, starts every time. Around 185,000 miles on it. I bought it about 4-5 years ago, put on new tires, new shocks (it doesn't shimmy when you hit a bump!!), drove it every day. I love this Jeep
Manual fuel pump with a toggle switch.
The drivers seat has a rip and the top is new but after-market. It doesn't fit really good. And the passenger side front fender has a small crunch. You can see it in the picture.
** YES!! SOME OF THE PAINT IS PRIMER!! I SANDED A COUPLE OF SPOTS THAT SHOWED SURFACE RUST STARTING- THE REST IS NOT just spray painted**
This is a nice Jeep - I have gone back and forth about selling it, keep thinking I'm going to fix it up, maybe lift it but I can't drive it anymore, bad neck and hate to just let it sit.
Its available for sale this week only - if it goes with us when we move we'll keep it and use it as a 4 wheeler. I just can't drive it daily anymore.
