MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen 1969 International Harvester Scout. This is the true classic sport utility enthusiast’s truck! The restoration was started in late 2014 and was completed in early 2015,including, ut was not limited to, ew front and rear cargo floor, ockers, oll bar and starter.

The International Harvester Scout is an off-road vehicle which was produced by International Harvester from 1961 to 1980. A precursor of more sophisticated SUVs to come, t was created as a competitor to the Jeep, nd it initially featured a fold-down windshield. November 1968 saw the introduction of the 800A, hich replaced the 800.

Finished in it’s original shade of red, his series 1 shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection, aint is new, ut not perfect. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The contrasting white hardtop is in great shape and comes off for a drop-top look. The bulkhead included comes out for easy use of backseat, r take out the back seat and leave the bulkhead in for a pick-up truck. Trim pieces are all present with a brilliant finish. Weather-stripping is original with no tearing or shrinkage, ut does show it’s age. Windshield washer hose is dry rotted and wipers are inoperable. Original large dual outside mirrors as well as dual fuel fillers with locking gas caps. Original equipment steel rims are in excellent condition with no signs of pitting or rash.

Inside, he newly refurbished new tan vinyl cushions for the front bucket seats and rear bench seat all look great, ven the dash top and visors have been refurbished with the same material! The door panels and dashboard are painted to match the exterior of the truck and look fantastic. In the rear a newer roll bar was added and a new red bed liner has been applied. The dash instrument clusters are original and function as designed as does the original AM radio. The steering wheel is also factory with original patina, hows well, owever the horn is inoperable. The original owners manual is included.

This nice original Scout features a 196 cid inline 4-cylinder engine, oupled to a 3-speed unsynchronized manual transmission and transfer case that provides smooth everyday driving. With available locking hub four wheel drive and DANA 20 transfer case shifter and tow package this International is ready for some off-roading hauling! The International 15-inch steel wheels with full hub caps (with very few dents) are surrounded by Pathfinders “raised white letters” tires that have good tread, ut have dry rot.

This International Harvester Scout was one of the first production American civilian off-road sport utility vehicles and you won’t have to be afraid to take this Scout into the woods…you know what we mean! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
