1987 GMC CABALLERO

VERY NICE 1987 GMC CABALLERO PICKUP (CAR).
This is a very clean Caballero, which is GMC's version of the Chevy Elcamino. This car is original, rust free, lazer straight, and has very nice original paint. You can see from the pics that it is a sweet looking car and it gets tons of attention. You just don't see nice elky/caballero's driving around much. This car runs perfect and everything works except the a/c. The previous owner took the pump off and didn't put it back on. The GMC rally wheels are included. Below are all the details. I have many more pics I can send too. The pics were taken on two different days, so they look different. The first day is was very smokey (forest fires) so they are darker. The second pics were taken after it cleared up. It was still overcast though and the paint really pops when the sun is out. The paint is a dark blue metalflake with frost blue roof. This car also has the factory locking hard tonneau cover. This car runs and drives perfect and is fast. It is very tight and had one owner for the last 15 years, and it was garaged and taken care of well.
FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS. I CAN TALK VIA PHONE ALSO IF YOU'D LIKE. LET ME KNOW IF YOU'D LIKE TO DO SOMETHING EARLY ON IT. THANKS.
MECHANICAL
This car has the 350, and I believe it's the original engine but I have not checked the numbers. It has been bored .030 over, has a lopey cam, headers, flowmaster type mufflers, aluminum intake, performance ignition, newly rebuilt heads, rebuilt quadrajet. The car runs perfect. No smoke, ticks, knocks, or anything abnormal. It runs strong and has plenty of power. It has a 2.73 non-posi rear differential. It is great for highway cruising. I would personally change it to a 3.73 posi for better low end power. It does ok low end and will roast the tire easily, but a 3.73 posi would really wake it up. The current gearing is great for highway/freeway driving though, good for passing, and good mpg's. The transmission works perfectly. No leaks of any concern. This car drives true and straight at 80mph. It doesn't pull, shake, vibrate, nothing. It is smooth as glass and the best driving car from this era that I've owned. Automatic transmission shifts perfectly. No slipping or anything weird. One look at it in person and you know it was taken care of. The original wheels/tires will come on it. I kind of want to keep the chevy rallys but we can maybe work it out. They are 14", but they are just cool looking. The exhaust sounds nice but not too loud. Overall the car is near perfect mechanically. The ac pump is unhooked but included. That is really all that needs to be done if you want, but is not necessary. Tires are good. Shocks are good. New hd rear coil springs are included. They are not needed but the previous owner planned to lift the rear a little. I also have an HD eq hitch mount that was on it when I bought it. I didn't like how it looked and didn't plan to tow with the car, so I took it off. It will bolt back in easily and the wiring is all still there but just tucked up out of sight and secured. The front air damn under the bumper is still in place too! that is somewhat rare actually because most people pull up to sidewalks or curbs and tear them off.
BODY
The body on this car is exceptional. Very very nice. No dents. No rust. Nice original paint. It is really a cool looking car. The tailights in the bumper are nice because it gives the rear corners a clean custom look. Nice glass but cracked windshield. The car is tight and quiet when driving. I don't even think it has a rattle. No sign of any repaint ever. No overspray in jams or on seals. Tonneau cover is the hard model that locks. Keys included. Very dry in the box and in nice shape. I've been all over under it also and it's dry. It's just a really clean car for an '87, or any year for that matter.
INTERIOR
The interior is not perfect but in pretty nice shape. The drivers seat has some wear. Not bad, but the usual. Not ripped. I'll get pics added of that side. The carpet is faded a little. The pics are not real good and the interior looks better in person. The door panels are in good shape. Drivers side armrest needs repaired or replaced. New ones are probably cheap. The dash is not cracked and the whole dash area is in nice condition. Headliner is in decent shape also, which is rare for a gm from the 80's. power windows and locks work. Rear window has tint film. I left it in because it is in nice shape and hard to even tell it's tint film and not factory tint. Besides a minor repair to the drivers seat, and the one armrest, the interior is in pretty clean shape overall and needs little.
I really like this car. It is fun to drive and gets lots of looks. I would love to keep it but I have some other projects/cars that I need to finish, and my family doesn't fit in this car unfortunately. These make great parts runners and I'm sure you could tow a race car or camper with it easily.
