Description:

1966 Ford Mustang Convertible

For your consideration is this 1966 Ford Mustang GT "A" code convertible with power top, 4 barrel 289 with a 4 speed manual. This car is being sold to settle the estate of a family member who was a avid Mustang collector. Restoration was completed less than 2,000 miles ago, miles that accumulated from numerous car shows over the past 15 years. He decided to restore this car because of the original condition of the car, a rust free example with 83,000 miles, now with 84,415. The restoration process left no bolt un-turned and was completed using many NOS (new old stock) Ford parts as well as retaining much of the original parts. Therestoration of the car ended up costing just over $50,000. The body, interior, engine, transmission, brakes, rear end- everything was rebuilt or replaced. The quarter panels and floors are all original metal, the pictures under the car are a must see since its so clean/original. The car also has the rare Pony front bench seat, a rare option for a 4 speed manual car. Being a stickler for original Ford the car was restored to as close to factory with a few exceptions such as the tires, valve covers, air cleaner, headers and exhaust system. Many of the hoses, wires, etc are NOS Ford parts. The top was also upgraded to a glass rear window to make driving a better experience.
I took the car to my auto shop a couple of weeks ago and inspected it for any issues. We put a new front timing cover gasket on to correct a little seepage as well as new pinion seal and rear main seal. All due to the age of the seals. We also replaced the battery that was testing weak.
This car is beautiful and sure not to disappoint. The car drives handles great, has lots of power and is a blast to drive. Shifting is smooth and the front factory Ford disc brakes make stopping a pleasure. Even the original floors are beautiful, once again this car is like a time capsule from 1966, just the way my family member enjoyed it.
The car is located in Dayton, Ohio and is available for inspection before bidding. I am happy to assist someones shipper but shipping is entirely at the expense and responsibility of the buyer. Deposit due within 48 hours and complete payment within 7 days of auctions end.
We have what we feel is a very fair "Buy It Now' price and a very low reserve price.
I have many additional pictures of the car, just ask if you would like something additional.
