Description:

1956 Ford Thunderbird --

The Ford Thunderbird hit the market in 1955 in was a direct response to the Chevrolet Corvette. While the Corvette aimed to impress with performance, the T-bird was all about style and substance. Dubbed the first "personal car" by Ford, it was described as a direct descendant of the bespoke 1930s roadsters and was aimed as a brisk grand tourer. It was light for its era and the powerful V8 could propel it to around 120 mph. The 1956 model... brought a few changes to the ranger including improved trunk space, rear mounted spare tire, improved ventilation, and a new 312cid V8 Y-block engine. Just 15,631 were made for 1956. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this absolutely stunning 1956 Thunderbird for your consideration. This car is painted in a gorgeous and exceedingly rare Sage Green. Sporting an older restoration, the paint is very nice and features a little bit of patina. The body is very nice and is accented by great chrome, rear continental spare tire, factory hardtop, white soft top, color matched tonneau cover, white wall tires, deluxe factory hubcaps, fender skirts, and a hood scoop. The interior of this car also features matching green and white vinyl seats, green dashboard, green steering wheel and door panels. The interior is in good shape and also features a floor shift automatic transmission, AM push button Motorola radio, Magic air defroster, and factory tachometer. This T-bird is fitted with the desirable 312cid V8 with the 4bbl carb, dual exhaust, engine dress up kit, and automatic transmission. According to the owner of 22 years, the engine and transmission were rebuilt when the car was restored and the restoration also saw a repaint, replacement soft top, refurbished chassis, and body imperfections fixed. It truly is a rare and desirable car that is a solid driver. It is ready to roll and brakes, runs, and steers very well. It will make someone very happy and the rare color combo is an instant head turner. To see over 80 photos of this car, including undercarriage please visit our website
