1964 Ford Falcon Futura

I am selling my 1964 Ford Falcon Futura. I started this project about 9 years ago when I retired. We bought the car for my son when he was 16 and then I bought it back from him after it sat for several years. It has been in our family for 25 years. I have put on 3,800 miles since the completion.

I built a rotisserie and stripped/sandblasted the car in my garage. The car was taken to bare metal inside and outside. All of the interio, inside the doors and bottom of the car was coated in "Zero Rust" and then I applied "Rubberized Undercoating" inside car, trunk area and bottom. The interior of the car has aluminized noise reduction material on roof, sides, floor, all of trunk area.

The car was primed and painted with 3 coats of Sherwin William's automotive paint in 1996 Corvette yellow with a slight touch of pearl for sparkle. Then 4 coats of clear was applied and color buffed and sanded.

The body is in great shape, the paint is beautiful. The car has won numerous trophies including best of show, participant's choice, best Ford, best chrome, best 60's car, etc. Every part on this car is new except for the body, rear and side windows. New windshield. The grill is chromed not anodized and is beautiful. You can see the panels in front of the radiator that tell about the car. I did that instead of making a sign. Those panels have been copied by a bunch of people since then. Several cars in Reno Hot August night now have them.

The engine is a 347 Stroker with the short block from DSS racing with all forged internals. (Go to DSS website for more information). It has Aluminum Air Flow Research 185 heads It has a Ford Racing 303 roller cam and lifters. Roller rockers. Beautiful Chromed aluminum Ford Racing valve covers. Air Cleaner over the dual carbs looks perfect with this engine. Polished wire looms. Edelbrock polished Air Gap intake with two polished 500 CFM carbs. Fluidamper balancer, chrome alternator, chrome brake master cylinder and booster. Engine was balanced. March pulley system. Chrome Monte Carlo bar across engine bay. Chrome hood hinges. Chrome hood latch mechanism. 4 core aluminum radiator that keeps the car cool. It never gets above 185 degrees even in the heat of Tucson and Reno. The engine is 400 horsepower with 338 horsepower to the rear wheels. It has Dougs long Tri-Y headers and electric exhaust cutouts. The electric exhaust cutouts are worth every penny and I love them. All new exhaust and it sounds greateven with the cutouts shut off. I just happen to like it loud.I raced the car in Tucson Arizona last October for two runs and it turned 13.53 @106.44 MPH on pump gas and street tires. I am positive the car will run in low to mid 12's with 110 octane and slicks/drag radials. Pictures of time slip included. Copy of dyno available.

I installed a Heidts independent suspension in the front with power rack and pinion steering. It has an Ididit tilt chrome steering column with banjo leather wrap steering wheel. The car has power brakes with discs up front and drums in back. The tires are Goodrich TA radials. The wheels are 14" chromed Torque Thrust D wheels, not polished aluminum. New gas tank and sending unit with electric fuel pump. NOTE: The manual engine pump is still installed and it works great even when the electric pump is on or off.

The car has a Tremec T5Z 5 speed transmission with a billet steel flywheel. It has a larger driveshaft for the horsepower, ford 9" Nodular rear end with 4:11 gears and traction lock from Quick Performance. It has Cal Trac traction bars, new rear leaf springs, drive shaft loop for drag racing. I installed a line lock system in the car and it has a shift light on column that I didn't have time to hook up before racing it.

The interior of the car is brand new original material from Falcon and Comets of Seattle with bucket seats, all new carpet and mats, new headliner, new door panels. All interior chrome was redone including plastic dash. The original radio is in the dash but not hooked up. It has a CD player in glove box with four great interior speakers. There is a custom fiberglass surround in the trunk with 4 10" subwoofers and amplifier that will literally blow the trunk open. It is a great sounding system and gets rave reviews at all shows. All new door handles inside and out. Tachometer on the column. The heater was completely rebuilt with new motor.

The car has been shown at Hot August Nights in Reno several times, many shows in Arizona and all over Washington State. I have a box of receipts and parts information.

The car is absolutely beautiful, but I will list the items that are not perfect. The fuel gauge does not work. There is a very small indentation in the paint below the left roof rail trim that no one but me has ever noticed. The car will drip a couple of drops of oil after each run and it has done that since the engine was built. I did not want to tear it apart to find the minor leak. But it is there. There is a very small chip in the paint in the engine bay on left hand side that you will not find. It was caused when a screw came loose from the fan shroud and got tossed into the side. Also, when I bought the dual carb intake and carbs from Summit, I also bought the air cleaner. They promised me it would clear my hood but, they were wrong. It touches when the hood is closed so I remove it. The car has another plate that installed on the top of air cleaner that also looks great. Look inside the trunk pictures and you will see the corner fittings just outboard of the trunk hinges. I remove those when I close the trunk. I think I have listed every single point of concern.

I installed a gas filler in the trunk because it is impossible to fill through the old tube without making a giant mess. The tube is behind the fiberglass surround and is not visible. You access it by pulling out the right hand back portion. Takes about 5 seconds to remove and replace.

Buyer is responsible for shipping but ebay lists several shipping firms that are reputable. I will do all I can to help with shipping process and loading of the car. There are no warranties on this car. If you are concerned about the listing or condition of the car you may contact a car mechanic in my area here for an inspection. Note that I have a perfect scoreon ebay of 270.
