Description:

1965 Ford Mustang --

Take a first year, first generation Mustang and outfit it with some well-selected modifications to give it an aggressive look that'll make it stand out from the rest of its herd, then add a handful of aftermarket components to enhance both power and handling, and you have the formula for this 1965 Mustang coupe. The combination of white paint and blue side stripes has long proven to be a winning look for the model, and this car takes things to... a newer and bolder level by adding an aggressive hood and a pair of broad, painted stripes to its aftermarket fiberglass hood that extend back over the roof and onto the deck lid, removing the corralled Pony from the front grille and adding a pair of additional scoops just behind its doors. It's an effective take on one of the most instantly recognizable classics you'll ever come across, still retaining its venerable identity but adding a sort of swagger that'll make it look right at home on any boulevard. Its collection of chrome is in good shape - you'll find straight, fresh-looking bumpers both fore and aft, clean trim surrounding its windows and clear glass on all four sides. Just below the taillight panel, the dual exhaust peeks out just the right amount from the chrome casings that surround it. The interior has been upgraded with blue and white Pony components and, with just a little bit of focused handiwork, this will be a top-notch driving environment. Both the front buckets and rear bench seat are free of much wear and you can still see every detail etched on their surfaces. A great looking, woodgrain steering wheel sits in place of the original, and just beyond it the dash is in mostly good order, with all gauges sitting properly in place and no cracks to be found on the dash pad on top. The instrument cluster could use a little freshening up to match the clean look of the switches below, but the underdash LED lights give the interior a great look. Just below, you'll see a factory underdash A/C unit sits in place - all the plumbing is properly in place for this feature, and with a little servicing, it can be brought back online in no time. The trunk area in back is clean and straight and is lined with signature Ford plaid fabric. With its inner wheelhouses exposed, you can see that its interior components line up well and are still joined by smooth, even factory seams. The 289 cubic inch V8 sitting under the hood is running smooth and sounding great with its aftermarket glass pack mufflers sitting in back. It's been armed with an Edelbrock intake and Holley 4-barrel carb for added power, as well as a chrome air cleaner and a pair of chrome Mustang valve covers to enhance its look. This is a very sharp engine compartment - its chrome export braces and Monte Carlo bar look great next to the braided hoses. An aluminum radiator sits up front to keep temperatures down. In back, coilover shocks have been added to refine the feel of the rear suspension - in particular, you'll feel less rebound over bumps. Power brakes at all four corners provide low effort stopping power as this modified classic cruises the boulevard on its set of 15" American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wrapped with Road Hugger GT tires in front and Mickey Thompson tires in back.
