After 25 years of hibernation this 1970 Mach 1 428 SCJ Drag Pack has seen light. As a Barn Find Picker, I ran across this Mach 1 sitting along with other Fords that has not seen the street in over 25 years. This car has a long story-full life. The 3rd owner had the car for years and one day came out of his house to notice his car was gone, the car was stolen. Months later he got a call from the police stating that they found his car. When he showed up to the location where the car was found, it was noticeable that the place was a chop shop. They had stole his car and sold the drive-train. The car was taken apart and was in the process of trying to change its identity. The owner had the car placed back and re painted due to damage and sourced a 351C and 4spd. And that is what he had reinstalled. Since he had the title the State issued him a Vin replacement in the correct Ford Vin Number. He drove it for a short time till he sold it to the last owner. He drove it home and placed it with his other prized fords. Till I on a accident took a wrong turn and noticed some old cars sitting in a field and went to the Farmer asking if he had anything for sale. He said at the age of 85 it was time to sell his cars. As you can see the car is covered in dust. It will need to be detailed and serviced. The car is free of Rust. Only service rust is visible.
