One of only 12,915 built this 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie Skyliner retractable hardtop was purchased California in 1975, driven for a few months, and then brought back to Ohio. The retractable top was functioning back in 1975. I am selling this for a friend of mine who is the one who had purchased it in 1975 when he got out of the Navy. He had the original California title in his files up until a few months ago when it was brought to the BMV. It now has a valid Ohio title.
As you can see in the photos this is a candidate for restoration. The motor was last running in 1975 and has not been started since. The dashboard power light comes on but the engine will not turn over nor will the hardtop motors work. Surface rust and some rust through body panels present throughout. Frame has rust but appears to be solid. The car will need a complete makeover. Included are extra parts such as additional retractable motors, grille, dashboard, etc. I can provide photos of these upon request.
