The Ford Mustang is possibly the most iconic American car, and the first generation is by far the most desirable. Owning a classic Mustang of any style and configuration has been the dream of many kids and adults through the years, but I imagine most of those restless nights have been fantasizing about a true GT with a 4-speed.
Well… your dreams have come true. Here we have a true A-Code GT Mustang from 1966 that is absolutely stunning in both appearance and performance. This Pony features its original A-Code 289 with the 4bbl carburetor as well as its original 4-speed manual transmission. The engine and transmission have both been completely rebuilt, and perform flawlessly. The engine starts with ease, and idles smoothly. Once on the road; you can feel the 4bbl kick in and makes for a much more exhilarating driving experience. The transmission shifts perfectly up and down through the gears, and feels nice and tight with minimal play in the shifter. The clutch was also replaced during the restoration, and is very easy to use. Power is put to the road through the original 8” rear end, and out through the correct trumpet exhaust tips.
The exterior has been professionally repainted in its original color of Emberglo. The base coat / clear coat was applied evenly, and looks absolutely amazing. The sheet metal is completely free of dents, dings, scratches or scuffs, and all the gaps are just like factory.
The correct Emberglo / Parchment Pony Deluxe interior is completely new. This is the most desirable interior of any of the Mustangs, and really sets this Mustang apart from the rest. The original owner of this car really did it right by ordering the Rally Pack Dash, Deluxe wood grain and the 4-speed manual transmission. Not only does this car have class, but it is a blast to drive!
This car has been beautifully restored with originality in mind, and will make someone very proud to own this GT!
