Description:

1973 Ford F-100

Up for sale is a 1973 F100 Custom (base trim) 4x4 pickup. Built April 1973 in Kansas City according to VIN info I have been able to find. Ordered by Ford Dealer in Dodge City Kansas as a special option package for farmers. It does not have air conditioning, or power windows, locks, steering or brakes, sorry.

It does have a torquey Ford 360 V-8, a cast-iron NP435 4-speed with granny low, manual transmission, a cast-iron gear-drivenDana 21 transfer case, and factory lockouts on the front hubs. Front axle is most likely a Dana 44, and rear axle is a Ford 9-inch, ratio 3.5:1. Wheels are 15". Mileage is 125,000 miles approximately. Motor rebuilt 10-20,000 miles ago, according to the local mechanic. The motor has had a fire on the left side, which burnt the insulation off the plug wires. Replaced those with other used wires. Found a worn gasket on the accelerator pump which was the culprit.

Interior in nice shape. Cab has rust at one cab mount and very little other rust issue. Does have various body damage, with the worst at the top of the windshield.

The bed has a lot of rust issues. It is a good candidate for a flatbed or a donor bed.

Engine has new exhaust gaskets. We are Including a new set of plugs, and the remains of the carb kit.

Runs and drives, stays cool, no smoke, shifts good, brakes work but need sealed at master cylinder, steering universal joint near gearboxneeds replaced. I have removed the battery.
