1968 Dodge Charger Custom Convertible

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. The car you wished the factory made is actually a reality. This 1968 Dodge Charger is a custom convertible. And more than just turn heads, this is a genuine muscle machine with a 440 V8 under the hood. Oh yes, this is your dream Mopar.

We bet you've spent a ton of time staring at the exterior pictures. We did, too. And so just imagine the time people are going to spend with this one at the car shows. After all, it's going to look like you've arrived in a concept car. The Dodge factory never produced a droptop version of their baddest muscle machine. And we love that this is painted in a Screaming Yellow metallic that loves to radiate with a "Look over here!" attitude. In fact, even without the convertible top, this Charger has everything you want. The bodywork is crisp to show off the blocky, yet sporty lines. It has terrific details like the hidden headlight front end and turn signals in the recessed hood. Plus, there's plenty of shine to rival the paint on everything from the chrome bumpers to the Cragar SS wheels. The custom-built black convertible top is a first-class piece that even has a glass rear window. In fact, while this one was made to turn heads for its unique convertible profile, it also looks fantastic with the roof in place. The black and yellow are always a great combo, and it does a terrific job of uniting the blackout front end with the racing stripes on the rear.

The all black interior means the same good look you get with the black roof in place happens with the top down, too. You can tell they invested nicely to keep this looking fresh everywhere from the smooth dash to the button-top seats. It's the exact kind of presentation that will fill you with pride to show off, which is exactly what this custom car was meant to do. In fact, be glad that the Charger has plenty of interior room, because everyone is going to want to go for a ride in this one. But even when you're just going solo, this is a fantastic machine. It's built for the driver with bucket seats, a center console, Grant sports steering wheel on a tilt column, and crisp AutoMeter gauges with a large speedo and tach. And while there is an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo, we really know your favorite soundtrack begins under the hood.

The bright yellow engine bay has a dark performance heart in the middle. This is an era-correct 440 cubic-inch V8, and you can tell by the tidy overall presentation that they invested nicely in this one. Plus, they upgraded the power with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock hi-rise intake. So this mighty V8 exhales with plenty of thunder from the H-pipe dual exhaust. The A727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission is Mopar's stout unit that knows how to handle this V8's big power. Plus, you have a reinforced frame, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front to make this custom convertible a terrific cruiser.
