Description:

1994 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT

Up for sale is my 1994 Ram 2500 12 valve Cummins Diesel. I purchased it in 2015 with 116k miles. It now has 120,600. It has spent its life in New Mexico and Southeast Colorado and as such is 100% rust free, including the under carriage. I am the 3rd owner. Both prior owners were older people as am I so the truck was never abused or turned up. When I bought it, the paint was not nice. I sold the bed, then had the truck stripped bare and repainted. It is not a show truck, but the paint is nice and I would consider it better than "driver" quality. I then had a factory made flatbed installed. I bought this truck to be a work truck, but $8,000 later when I was done it was too nice to use for that purpose and has spent the last 2 ½ years mostly sitting inside a building. I used it to run around town and it has made a few 200 mile trips, but otherwise it mostly sits. I have never hauled anything but groceries and softener salt with it. I also never drove it in winter because of the road salt around here. So it is time to sell it. As stated it has 120,600 miles. The miles are actual and I have a clean and clear title in my name that is "actual miles" -and a clean Carfax which details ownership and miles. Indiana also requires a police inspection for title purposes so that was done also. The following is a description in detail.
Body/Undercarriage As stated, no rust ever and all original body panels. Quality basecoat/clearcoat paint 2 years ago that is still in good shape. A few minor rock chips on the lowers. No previous accident damage - doors and fenders never been off. The underside is as clean as the top. This frame and driveline never even had any scale on it. It was smooth and clean. The only ding or dent is in the chrome on the front bumper. I have a new one in the box that goes with it. I never put it on because I thought I'd scratch the truck doing it. Because this truck has never seen salt every nut and bolt on it turns with a wrench instead of a torch or sawzall. I don't care how much money you spend if you don't start with a no salt western truck you won't ever have a nice one. You can also see that it is not covered in undercoat to hide anything. It is not a "10”, but if you go to a car show and look at $50,000 muscle cars their paint is not any better. When it was painted everything was removed except the rear window. I also had new Mopar glass run channels and window sweeps installed, so all the rubber and weather stripping is nice with no air or water leaks. Had a CB antenna on roof and I left it there and there are some very minor dings in the roof that can't be seen in picture. The bedsides are removable...they simply sit in the bed stake pockets.
Interior/Glass The seats are still firm and supportive. Carpet is nice for age. Glass is good, no chips or scratches in windshield. Has a couple of ancient burns in seat and carpets, but hasn't been smoked in since 1996. There are no cracks in the dash. I covered it to protect it. Door panels good shape. Headliner does not sag. The dash and instrument cluster are nice with no cracks or screw holes. I had the headliner professionally recovered as it was coming loose in spots.
Electrical/HVAC The AC is ice cold. It has always worked properly. Heat is hot. Everything comes out the appropriate vents. Power windows work and go up and down as designed. Cruise control works. Key buzzer works. Turn signals work. Horn works. Flashers work. Headlights high and low work. Brake lights work. License plate light works. Reverse lights don't work because bed installer never hooked them up. Has (2) Interstate batteries that were replaced in October 2015. The power locks work on the passenger door, but not the driver's door - the actuator tries to move, but not enough to lock/unlock. The key works in both doors. The radio works, but just average in sound quality. The tilt steering works properly and it not loose. Dome light and engine compartment light work. Truck can sit for weeks and always starts and has no battery discharge issues. Speedometer, ODO, trip DDO, fuel gauge, temp gauge, oil pressure and voltage gauge all work correctly as does the wait - to - start light. No check engine, ABS or other lights on. Block heater works. 4x4 indicator light works. Dash lights work. Horn works.Truck never blows fuses and has no electrical issues or wiring issues.
Mechanical Always starts right up, even in very cold weather. Runs great with no misses or smoke. Does not "haze" at an idle. No blowby or oil consumption. I changed all the fluids in the transmissio, transfer case and both differentials. The motor is very clean and dry with no leaks. There are no coolant leaks. The transfer case and differentials do not leak. The transmission pan gasket seeps and will leave a drip overnight. I have had to top it off once in the last 2 years. The factory exhaust was not compatible with the flatbed, so it is a straight exhaust - kind of loud, but it sounds great in my opinion with a nice turbo whistle. The brakes are in great shape - stops without any pull or vibration. Lots of pad on the fronts. Never pulled drums to look at rear. Tires/wheels are 305/65/17 Courser MXT and have about 3,000 miles on them. There is no vibration or unusual noises and drive train is tight with no banging going into drive or reverse. The front end and suspension are tight. Steering play is not excessive. Motor carries good oil pressure and does not get hot. There is no pull left or right in the steering. the transmission goes through all 4 gears correctly with no odd shifts or slippage. Sometimes between 47-60 MPH the torque converter will cycle in and out of lockup. This is an issue every Dodge truck from 1991 to 2002 has if it is an automatic. There must be 500 web pages dealing with this issue. If you are not familiar with it then you have never owned a '91-'02 Dodge. For the type of driving I do I rarely happened or bothered me enough to fix it. In most cases it is a TPS (throttle position sensor) . There is no getting around this in a '91-'02 Dodge. I never pulled anything with this truck. There is a hitch, but no trailer receptacle. I did have an $800 set of air bags put on thinking I would be hauling gravel, dirt and firewood, but that never happened - but they are there. When I put the flatbed on I did not consider the "fall rate" of the fuel hose and thus you have to hold the fuel nozzle at the 3 O'clock position to fill it. You can get about 3-5 gallon a minute in the tank. This truck has 3.54 gears, so it goes along way on ta tank of fuel. With the original skinny factory tires I got 20-21 MPG - now it is around 18, which is still good for a big heavy truck and about 5-6 MPG more than my 2012 Ram gets. I always keep this and every truck/tractor mower etc. I own filled with fuel, so it is got a full tank of diesel.
Summary All in all a nice truck with many years of service left in it. No pollution crap, DPF,DEF fluid or anything else that has ruined modern diesels. Its 24 years old so it is not new .As a person that has bought many vehicles online I can say that they always look better in pictures but this looks good "in person" too. I have a clean, clear actual miles Indiana title in my name. Not looking for trades of any sort whatsoever. I will provide a copy of the title and Carfax to the winning bidder before payment if you like. If you want to see it or drive it, it is in Columbia City, Indiana. Not interested in meeting anyone halfway or delivering it. Payment expected within 7 days by cash, wire transfer or I will take a bank (cashier's check) that can be verified before truck leaves. If you don't have any money, do not bid. If you have to ask your mom, wife or girlfriend or the Lord do it before you bid. NO DEAD BEATS. Winning bidder contact me at auctions end or within 24 hours. Questions 574-780-8639. I do not check email and I am not interested in ending the auction early. Pickup/delivery is buyers responsibility but I will assist a shipper. Sorry the pictures are small but the truck is exactly what I say it is. Ebay changed their picture format and in order to change it I would have to relist under "Advance Listings" and a 9pm on a Sunday night I'm not doing that.
