BLACK / BLACK CAR!

Its the old car story once again I purchased this car with intentions of a full restoration and not days after I get it the mopar I have been trying to buy for three years becomes available. So this one has to go, ad for me but good for you. This is a one owner car that I bought from the original owners son who inherited after she passed away. He tells me the 79,990 miles on it is original and I believe him but that is up to you. It had been sitting for two years before I got it and both the ignition control box and the voltage regulator had melted (de laminated) like they do on Mopars that sit. I popped in a new ignition control box and regulator, ave it a shot of starting fluid and it fired right up like it was running yesterday. I only ran it for a minute becayuse it needs clean gas and all the fluids changed from sitting. But in the time it was running the 318 ran great. No smoke, nocking or ticking from the lifters that is why I think the mileage is correct. The body has thesome of therust issues that the Volare/ Apen cars get they had a lot of issues with bad sheet metal panels and replaced most of the front fenders on these cars when they were new. he said the front fenders were warrantied by dodge on this one. But the drivers door is shot the bottom edge of it is rotted the passenger door looks ok. The quarters are not bad at all but the decklid will need to be replaced it is rusty along the edge. The trunk floor is solid and the floorpans inside look solid from underneath along with the framerails. This was an NC car its whole life and did not see the road salt that the up north cars see. The interior is all original and not too bad overall it still wears its original rims. Be aware this is a TOTAL RESTORATION PROJECT do not ask me if you can drive it home. It is going to need a complete mechanical go thru before its roadworthy. This is a rare 70's Mopar that deserves the full restorationI can not give it at this time. Or it would make a great Hot Rod or pro touring ride CLEAR NC title.
