Description:

1970 Dodge Challenger

This is a 29,000 mile survivor that has basically sat patiently waiting for a professional restoration most of its life.
I am the third owner. The car was purchased new in southern Iowa to be used strictly as a factory stock drag racer . It was retired in 1975 and then lightly used as a summer cruiser. It then sat garaged until the the second owner purchased it in 1982 with 22,000 miles. He had the car custom painted like you see it now. He drove it to a couple cruise nights and shows but it mostly just lounged around in the garage. I recently purchased the car with intentions of doing a complete resto but due to a back injury last June I am selling the car.
So I HAVE NO WAY of picturing the underside of this car, no hoist,or ramps and I can not get down on a creeper. The car was throughly inspected on the underside/chassis prior to purchase and I can assure you it has NO RUST or integrity PROBLEMS !
The car is located near Waterloo Iowa .This is a factory purple V Code 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, with a NON-numbers matching 440-6 engine. It was factory built in early December of 1969. It has the correct aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold but only the center carb is correct. Complete with original fender tag, door tag, and partial build sheets. Radiator and cowl numbers too. Engine has aftermarket air cleaner, valve covers and Hooker Headers and bellhousing. The 440 has mega h.p. being a vintage drag racer. This car has a desirable color combo- FC7 "Plum Crazy" with original black interior. This is a buckets and console 4-speed pistol grip car with rally dash. I have accumulated some resto parts to include correct date coded UN-CRACKED HP exhaust manifolds, correct valve covers, correct 6-pak oil pa, NEW battery tray (installed), UN-CRACKED aluminum bellhousing,a totally new Dash Pad Pro's dash pad ($1000.00 in June), 6-pak air cleaner, a mid 1969 and early 1970 440 blocks with rods heads crank etc (all need machine work done). Trunk and drivers floor are very solid with a few VERY small "tar" patches done.NOTHING has been hacked or chopped up for drag racing. Center console is out of the car but here, the fenders, quarter panels, doors, firewall, core support deck lid, all super solid and no serious rust out or damage present. Even the underside of the dash frame is like new! The floors are SUPER nice, some surface rust going on, couple of small tar patches under the drivers area but thats it. 100% real V Code with a NON- original engine, no surprises. The car has the ultra rare elastomeric or rubber front bumper option too. Bumper is excellent . This is without a doubt the most solid survivor I have seen in 40 years of doing Mopars. No hidden surprises, both sides of the car look great with no rust repairs. The frame rails, boxed spring perches, and all underside supports are SOLID! K-Frame has the correct 6-pak coin or tag. A non-refundable $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction ending. This can be sent with Paypal. Full payment due within 2 weeks after the auction ends. The car is sold as-is, where is and with no warranty once you pick it up. Bank wire or cash preferred . Clear title in hand. Buyer responsible for any transport and are liable for taxes in their state of residence. NO OFFERS will be considered at this time, however a partial trade for a decent solid running 440 4-speed Vanishing Point clone or low level 318 or 6 cyl.70-71 e-body project MAYBE considered. NO ZERO feedback bidders PLEASE. Feel free to ask questions or e-mail me your questions through E-bay OR E-mail me DIRECTLY at BANTAMFUELER@GMAIL.COM with your phone number !
