Description:

1970 Datsun Z-Series 240z

Re-list: High bidder never responded or was fake. (Ebay case opened.) 2nd and 3rd place bidders never responded.
Series one. 4 speed. Matching numbers engine runs and drives great. I picked up from an estate so do not know the history. It had been sitting 5 or so years on non-op. I transferred title to my name. (NO back fees.) I kept it in non-op because I did not know if it ran. I cleaned out the gas tank, replaced all vapor hoses, changed oil and coolant. New battery and plugs. Started up and the engine runs strong.Body is very nice. No dents. The previous owner used spray paint on the passenger side quarter panel so I don't know if there may be filler there or not. (I found a can of spray paint in the car.) Transmission shifts smooth. Does not pop out of any gear. Drivers frame rail has damage as if someone ran up on something and there is one rust through hole in the drivers floorboard that can be repaired (I was told) without a floor pan replacement. I wanted to leave it for buyer to see. Not trying to hide ANYTHING. I do see some filler in the rear wheel fender edges (under the lips?) but the front looks nice. (See photos and videos) . Needs tires, Interior has been re-done and looks nice. Seats look new. (Most likely covers.) Headliner looks new. New carpet kit with 2 level insulation. All gaugesseem to work. Auto rise antenna works. Map light works. Choke works. (See video) Cracked steering column from past theft attempt but everything works. Door panels look great. Arm rests need attention. Needs a a new oil pan gasket as it leaks. Not really leaking on ground. Can be replaced without lifting engine.) I can email more photos of anything. I tried to display in 24 photos what I thought would be most important to a buyer. But there are videos on my youtube of every problem area. VERY nice Series 1 with minimal rust. The Driver's side floorboard looks nasty in pictures due to some kind of rust spray or paint-on but is very solid besides the rust though area. Email with any questions. The rest of the underneath looks good. Has Zeibart rustproofing probably from dealer. Battery tray and engine compartment look ugly because of rustproofing but are very solid. Comes with original owners manual, warranty book and 2 shop manuals. Email me with any questions. I tried to think of everything. Clean title in my name.
It looks like the original jack and tool kit is behind the seats. I have many more pics but was only able to post 24. email with requests and I will try to do my best to get you a photo. This is a chance to get a low vin, matching numbers engine (I have no idea how to check the transmission for matching status.) and great running SERIES ONE 240Z. Only selling because I just bought my dream muscle car and don't have room for this beautiful Z. Good luck bidding! There were many videos of the car running on my Youtube as well as videos to show any potential buyer some of the problem areas I mentioned in the original description.I made a walk around video that shows how nice the doors close, hatch stays up and closes and windows roll up and down. Also the windshield wipers working as well as the electric antenna, lights and taillights.I made a video better showing the damage to the frame rails (As mentioned before, just dented.) as well as the floorboards and under the car further. Also someone asked about the front frame rails that run from the radiator support to the firewall. They are very solid. They look ugly because of the Zeibart rustproofing. I guess that was a good thing because it helped protect the car but it is ugly! There is a video of the engine compartment where I try to show how solid the front frame rails are. I also note that this car has the under hood utility light (It does not light, may need a new bulb) as well as the rare valve cover that says Nissan 2400 ohc.I made a walk around video showing how nice the car is and how nice the body is besides a couple spot where someone did minor repair with spray paint or something. Some of the videos show a missing wheel cap. All are there. Both keys look original. There is narration in the video so the viewer knows what they are looking at.I love how the car starts right up, runs great and the clutch engages perfectly and very smooth. The brakes feel great. I have not been able to drive it at freeway speeds as the car is on non-op and since it is not supposed to be on the road I just took it around my neighborhood. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions. As I look at similar 240z's on Ebay, I notice not many show the damage and problem areas like I do in my add. That is just my style. I don't like surprises and I want the buyer to know exactly what they are getting. As you can see from the photos and videos, This is a very nice 1970 Series one, 240z that has alot going for it and with a little more work will be an amazing car. Thanks for all the interest. Please don't bid if you are not interested in the car. Such a frustrating experience.
