It really seems apparent the more you look around your local car show the more you’re starting to see them and what some of these builders are investing in these little haulers is mind blowing. Back in the late 50’s everyone was enamored by space and space travel and that’s where all the cool tailfins came from on all those big-bodied cars of the late 50’s. It’s no surprise then that the 1959 Chevrolet pickup line got a trace of the rockets and aircraft styling cues. This ‘59 Chevy 3100 series truck is the product of uncompromised vision and talent from the people who built it. This stunning 3100 Chevy wraps a 350 small block and turbo 350 transmission with Air-Ride suspension in a one of a kind “stanced” appearance. If you’re a fellow truck enthusiast who’s looking to satisfy the need to headline shows and make a statement this award winning little hauler might just be for you. Here a break down of the VIN:3A = Series 3100 Truck59 = 1959 yearL = Los Angeles Assembly Plant102015 = Sequence Number This solid truck started its life out in California and made its way to Cave Creek AZ until recently when it arrived here at Custom Classics. This trucks firm body looks to have lead a rust free & accident free life judging by a visual inspection under the truck. Someone did a real nice job on the body chrome and paint as you can see in our photos. Today this incredible half-ton is a unique combination of time talent and exceptional attention to detail. And with its killer paint hot small block stylish custom leather interior and that slammed stance it’s the kind of top-notch street rod/truck that’s guaranteed to make you weak in the knees and envious heads turn. As expected this awesome 3100 series first-rate detailing highlights both its solid form and stunning pigment. At the front of the truck a custom chrome-trimmed grille rides between modern headlights recessed parking lamps and a perfect chrome bumper. Above that grille a Bel-Air inspired hood leads the eye to fresh clean glass new rubber seals and polished wipers. At the sides of that hood custom dual chromed mirrors combine with a custom fuel filler in the middle of the gorgeous oak bed floor. New chrome door handles detail a clean ‘flow through’ profile. Running towards the back of the truck an embossed tailgate hangs polished supports between jet-inspired taillights a custom tag bracket with a 3rd brake light in it and finally finished off with another perfect chrome rear bumper. Hoist the reinforced hood and you’ll find an elegant 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that thanks to the guys that built this truck has lots of chrome – our favorite color. At the top of the custom painted small block is a chrome air cleaner that forces air into a polished Edelbrock intake that’s juiced by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. At the base of that intake is more goodies: chrome valve covers chrome high output alternator polished water pump with a billet pulley and other chrome pullies to finish things off. A high-flow puller fan keeps things cool pulling all that air through a fresh radiator. Other items include an Optima series battery billet overflow tank along with chrome flex hoses to complete the engine bay dress up. Shimmy under this Chevy and you’ll find a super clean undercarriage that’s been prepped primped and polished to match the truck’s slick engine bay and stunning exterior. The dressed 350’s V8 power flows into a chromed and painted turbo 350 trans. That transmission twists a black painted driveshaft which is hooked to a painted GM 12-bolt with 3.73 gears. That proven axle pushes the truck on traditional Chevy rear suspension which has a complete Air-Ride system fitted to it. We have all grown fond to the look of a hot looking truck slammed on the ground at the local shows. If you purchase this one you’ll be grinning ear to ear when you hear the hiss of the air rushing out of the bags to drop the bumpers down to the pavement to the amazement of bystanders. Stopping the 3100 series Chevy comes from a brand-new recently installed CPP 4-wheel disc brake set with drilled and slotted rotors. Lastly this blue bad boy runs down the road on a set of Lionhart Radials and all the way around it’s on 245/35ZR20’s with a set of big custom KMC chrome wheels. But the show doesn’t stop there… not by a long shot! When you pop open this pickup’s doors you’ll find a detail-oriented cockpit with charmingly custom surfaces installed. At top-dead center a custom ’59 Chevrolet dash hangs a custom set of Dolphin white faced Instrument gauges and bullet-style knobs that operate lights and airbags in an inconspicuous way. In front of that dash a set of custom bucket seats and custom center console blends in great with a set of useful cup-holders (with a truck this hot… you’re going to get thirsty.) Fresh weave carpeting highlights billet foot pedals and clean kick panels. Opposite that carpet a custom designed two-tone headliner flows from a custom rearview mirror to stylish sail panels. At the sides of the passengers bullet-trimmed doors hang a cool combination of two-tone materials and hidden flush mounted speakers in the kick panels. New chrome handles grace the door panels to help you out of the truck and to operate the manual window. Opening the doors you’ll find fully finished jambs. And in front of the driver a tilting polished Flaming River steering column spins a billet custom leather wrapped steering wheel. Impressive sound comes to you by an Alpine AM/FM CD player so you can catch your favorite oldies while heading to the local cruise night. If you’re looking for a unique classic that mixes quality restoration with unmatched style and unparalleled fun this Chevy deserves your full attention. It’s spectacular from every angle. It plays to a level of nostalgia that everyone can appreciate. And whether you’re racking up trophies at a show or just spending a Saturday afternoon on the town it’s guaranteed to be the center of attention wherever it goes!Exterior Photos
