This car has been restored to original and beyond and will do well at larger regional car shows or the local coffee shop get together. This would be a fun car to get judged at any antique automobile show. The exterior has been refinished in the correct Moonlite Cream paint while the interior was also restored to original. Much attention to detail was spent throughout this car during the restoration effort. Most recent. the Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt and the torque converter replaced in 2013 with verifying receipts. The stovebolt 216 cubic inch OHV Six was retained. Many cloth-wrapped wires were used for authenticity. The factory 15-inch steel wheels were refinished and fitted with B. F. Goodrich Silvertown Wide Whitewall Tires. The power top assembly was taken apart and restored. fully functional and still 6-volt. The Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum is the location for many of our photos of this great '51 Chevy Convertible. Be sure to visit the historic Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas. Texas. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom is located only minutes down the road. Closer inspection will reveal attention to detail spent throughout this car. The color of choice is the color on the trim plate. Moonlite Cream. This pale yellow is a perfect pair with the restored and re-plated exterior brightwork throughout this convertible. The front and rear bumpers were re-chromed and remaining chromework and stainless was polished and restored. The bumper guards are in great shape front to back. The Powerglide emblem is in beautiful condition as is the hood ornament. which was left original. The black canvas convertible top is high quality. detailed with red stitching as is the convertible top boot. also canvas. The convertible top frame was restored and is complete with a functional dome light. This top fits well and is in excellent condition. replaced during the restoration. All of the glass was replaced along with the seals during the restoration. The rubber weatherstrip has been replaced throughout. The window mechanisms function with little effort. excellent condition. The glass frames are polished left and right. The top operates slowly and correctly. still assisted by the 6-volt charging system. This top will stow in the back and is protected with the canvas boot. These convertible coupes are considered 5-passenger vehicles. The upholstery is just beautiful front to back. This seat pattern was chosen specifically to replicate the original. The seats appear to be leather with vinyl backings and door panels. The dash displays functional instrumentation. Again. be sure to play our video of this '51 Deluxe Styleline in action. All of these gauges are functional including the wind up clock. The dash retains beautiful bakelite plastics throughout and the original radio and controls. The pushbutton start is still functional as well. Under the hood is the correct 216 cubic inch stovebolt six. This inline-6 engine runs smooth and will move this Chevrolet down the road. Not a rocket ship by any means. this powerplant is paired with the recently rebuilt Powerglide automatic transmission. Much attention to detail was spent throughout this restoration. Reproduction cloth-wrapped wiring was utilized to keep the original look under the hood. The oil-bath breather assembly was retained as well. The firewall and inner fenders are in excellent conditionThe original trim identification plate is still in place and legible. This car was re-painted the correct Moonlite Cream color The VIN plate is also intact. The undercarriage is also in excellent condition. displaying the restoration efforts throughout. The suspension was rebuilt front to back. Updated shocks were installed. The dual exhaust system features cherry bomb mufflers for the classic sound under throttle. The engine and transmission undersides are dry and clean as is the differential. The wheels of choice are the factory 15-inch steel wheels. refinished to match the body color and fitted with hubcaps and B. F. Goodrich Silvertown Wide Whitewall Tires all around. The trunk is beautifully detailed as well. a reproduction rubber mat installed. The correct jacking equipment is in place along with the spare tire/wheel.
