1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups Big Window

This restored 1955 Chevrolet 3100 features a ton of shine, an upgraded V8, desirable big back window cab, and so much more. And at a price like this, you know you need to go for a closer look.

A 1955 second series truck already gets us excited. After all, this was the mid-year debut for the Task Force pickup. Since it wasn't a full model year, a '55 already has rarity and distinction, and that's before you look at all the details that standout from the restoration. The upgraded red paint has a terrific shine that loves to highlight the quality of the curves on this stepside pickup. Plus, this has a modern street-wise look with the deleted trim, smooth rear roll pan, color-matched bezels, and color-matched grille. And while the look is more modern, it doesn't mean this one skips out on classic brightwork. The wraparound chrome front bumper and polished Cragar SS wheels are now just bigger standouts against all that shiny red. And while the walls of the bed have been given color-matched liner paint for added protection, the glossy lumber on the floor doesn't look like it ever did any heavy lifting.

Inside, the dash and door tops have a nice smooth look with the exterior-matching red. Now it's joined by a tasteful gray tweed. The upgraded bench seat, door panels, headliner, and floor mats all have a well-coordinated look. And you get to see it all so well, because the wraparound rear window of the cab was a desirable option that makes the whole atmosphere brighter and airy. You'll slip behind an upgraded Lecarra sports steering wheel, and it's mounted on a column with upgrades like tilt and cruise control. Beyond that, the crisp AutoMeter gauge upgrade is well-integrated, and it's also a signal you're going to love what's under the hood.

This is a clean engine bay with a V8 that's ready to show off. And that's for a very good reason. The Task Force trucks were born at the beginning of the small block era, and so it's great to see that spirit under the hood, but now with extra displacement. Not only is the 350 cubic-inch V8 larger than what you could get in '55, but also it has been upgraded further with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Weiand intake, and long tube headers that feed the sweet-sounding side pipe dual exhaust. This kind of power is made to be enjoyed on the road, and so you have great upgrades, like the three-speed automatic transmission and an independent front suspension. Add in power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, wide modern BF Goodrich T/As, and you have a truck built for enjoying.

Complete with build receipts, this is the slick-looking first-year Task Force that was built for cruising. So if you love a nice custom truck value, call today!
