Description:

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Pro Touring

This is a 1966 Chevelle LSx pro touring build up for sale.

The car has gone through an incredible transformation into a completely updated restomod pro touring Chevelle. Nope, it's not a 138 code car, and who cares? It's undergone a complete restoration and lots of subtle fabrication, with just the original body, frame and some trim remaining. The paint is Granite Crystal Metallic with black trim. The bumpers have been smoothed and painted to match as well as the entire under carriage and engine bay. The fire wall has been cleaned up and has a custom transmission tunnel built to fit the larger 6L80 trans.

It has a 6.0 L76 engine that was original to a Pontiac G8, but is essentially an LS3 (minus 0.2 Liters, or 12 cubic inches) with the 821 rectangular port heads. The Displacement On Demand feature and small camshaft has been removed, and the engine rebuilt with all of the correct necessary hardware including new gaskets, seals, and ARP bolts. The Comp Cam that was installed maxes out the available space for piston clearance without having to use dished or cut pistons, and is still very street-able. All of the valve train has been beefed up to support the larger cam. The engine runs very strong with around 500+ crank hp.

Custom exhaust fabrication (black high temp coating) with Magnaflow mufflers and stainless headers.

All wiring was done by Current Performance with dual fan relays and headlight relays. The battery has been moved to the trunk with large 0 gauge wire delivering power to a distribution block under the hood.

The trans is the matching 6L80 six speed automatic that's been gone thru and tuned for the gearing and power and a new trans cooler. It shifts very well, and with the Camaro shifter, can be used in manual mode.

It has a custom Driveshaft Shop Aluminum CV shaft with billet adapter hooked to an original 66 date coded 12 bolt with a 3.73 Posi rear gear.

The frame under this car was modified heavily for additional rigidity and strength with boxed in side rails, drive shaft loop and full inner structure, then powder coated red. You can see by the pictures that this frame would take a lot of abuse.

The interior is all built custom to designed to match the new seats with NEW leather covers with a custom stitching pattern that creates a common theme throughout the rear seat and door panels. It has a 2014 Camaro console/shifter. The console and dash pad are wrapped to match with some nice stitching. The trunk was upholstered to match. The stereo system uses a new Pioneer head unit and speakers, with a 5-channel Soundstream amp, crossover, and Infinity Kappa 10 subwoofer.
