Description:

1968 Chevrolet Impala

we bought this wagon 2 years ago from the original 92 year old woman, Evelyn Turner. it was sold brand new in California as shown by the protectoplate. Her husband was in the military. it stayed in California until the mid 70s and then it made its way up to the Portland Oregon area where it stayed the rest of it life. The car was hear driver until about 2 months before we bought it, when she hurt her hip and couldn't drive anymore (no joke). i had found this car about 3 years prior to buying it. I met her at a Walgreen's where i was working. saw her pull in the parking lot and talked with her. she didn't want to sell at the time and i left my number. fast forward 3 years, i got a call out of the blue. she was ready to sell so we bought it. we have done nothing put some regular maintenance to the car and i fixed the AC when we first got it. we drive this car regularly. it has current tags and is very reliable. we were looking for a 67-72 Malibu wagon when we bought this and decided to keep it for a while. we are back to wanting a Malibu instead so its time for this to go. i hate selling it but have no reason to keep it. you will have a very hard time finding another wagon this clean and original with a number matching 396 in it.
Things i know that are not original:
front seat was recovered at some point. color matches great, stitching is a little different.radiator is not original.transmission is original but has been rebuilt. according to the Evelyn "its hasn't been too long ago, sometime in the late 80s i think."
the goods
original 396/325 carTH400power disc brakesfactory AC that workstilt2 spots of rust on either front fender about the size of a quarter. everything else on the car is SOLID. no rust in floors, doors, or quarter panels.interior is all original except the front seat cover.i have the original hub caps just didn't have them on since i was checking the brakes.
it is missing the rear trim on the driver side. was missing when we got it. it also has a couple dents and dings. nothing major. i would say typical for a 50 year old car that had a 90 year old driver.
this car is very reliable and i honestly wouldn't think twice about driving anywhere. the 2 things that are going to make the drive horrible is the AM radio and the fuel efficient big block.
we have a clean and clear Oregon title in our name. if you would like to inspect the wagon in person before you bid please call 503-799-0666 to arrange a time to do so. you are encouraged to look before you bid. i can also let me know what pictures you would like and i can send a lot more. know that i don't have a lift so underside pictures will be tricky but can be done.
we would be willing to discuss trade options such as a 67-72 malibu wagon or 2 door, nice K5 blazer, Jeep CJ. i wont be trading up for your number matching SS show car and i wont be trading down for your pile of parts on a trailer. please keep that in mind when asking. i am willing to travel to meet for the buyer or for a trade.
