I bought this extremely solid 1941 chevy truck came from the devils tower area in wyoming. I bought it from the second owner of the truck who had it since 1981. Before him it was owned by a family in the same area devils tower, since new. (I have documentation going back to 1942 that goes with the truck). The previous owner relocated here to iowa and became to old to drive this comfortably so he offered it to me, as he knew my dad and i had around 80 or so collector cars in our personal collection. H,e thought that this truck would be perfect to be part of our collection for a bit and that we would appreciate the originality and how solid it was. My dad and I both agreed as it was mainlyuntouched and original and it is getting very hard to find these in this shape. I ended up buying a 1963 split window corvette and am turning some faces out of my collection to help fund it and get a change for people coming to tour my collection etc.
We got it here to my dealership in waukon iowa Teddys auto sales and had my guys generally go through it. We did the typical points, plugs, carb etc. The gas tank in it looked very clean as the previous owner did use it here and there. The truck is running off it now. The 216 engine in this truck, in our opinion, is the original engine. it matches the title and numbers. it runs great with no knocks, smoke or misses. Make sure to watch the video if you are serious about buying this. We used it in town here and there for advertisin, pulling it out on nice days etc and a parade here and there. The brakes stopped the truck good. the trans shifted all gears (4 speed ) great and reverse like it should. The wheels are the rare artillary wheels and the tires i was told have less than 1000 miles on them since being put on. the floor boards are very solid. The gauges are working great including speedo. the gas gauge wasn't working, the lights work off the original switch. I had my guys bypass the original 6 volt system to 12 volt for easier starting. the 6 volt wire harness etc is still there if you want to go back. I put in a new radiator as after a few parades I noticed the original leaking some. The horn worked when i tried it in the video with a little push button on the dash, super fun for parades and the youngsters giving you thumbs up on the sidewalks lol.
The windshield cranks in and out with ease. REALLY COOL! The windows go up and down great as the video shows. There was cracks in the rear glass, personally i would leave it as it ads to the patina but affordable and easy replacement if you decide you want to do it. The body is very solid as pictured and videoed. It has never been touched body wise by myself. I elected to clear coat the truck (as it is original paint) to preserve the patina. very solid truck that you can start to have fun with right now and take to shows etc. just got back from a show and won first place for most original truck.
I do not want to over call this or undercall this, let the pics and video tell the story. I require a 200 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. if i do not get the deposit before you come for the truck or within the time frame, i will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I invite you to come check it out in my classic showroom at my dealership teddys auto sales waukon iowa or hire ebay to do a private inspection. I can help recommend shippers i have used before who have been very reasonable. call me 563 568 5111 or 1182 with any questions and we will do the best we can to answer them. The plate, plate toppers, and dash magnets and air cooler in window don't go with the sale as they are part of my collection. I reserve the right to end the listing at any time if someone buys it locally/early etc .Thanks for looking!
