1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

The year was 1960. In October of that year, CBS began airing a television show featuring two young men, Martin Milner and George Maharis, driving around the countryside looking for adventure. Both the car and the program were a huge hit for CBS. The show was of course, 'Route 66', and the car was a 1960 Chevrolet Corvette. We may never know if the show helped boost sales, but deliveries of the Corvette eventually topped 10,000 for the first time... ever that year w/ 10,261 units being sold. 'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is happy to offer you this absolutely beautiful 1960 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible finished in its factory original color of Roman Red w/ white coves & white vinyl top, wrapped around a simply gorgeous bright red interior. This eye-catching 1960 Corvette came to us from Las Vegas, Nevada, where it has resided for the last couple of decades. It is very much a survivor with one professional repaint about five years back, as well as a cosmetically restored interior and a few minor upgrades such as a custom-built aluminum radiator, Edelbrock carburetor, and a smaller custom-made steering wheel (the original steering wheel & original carburetor go w/ the car). From what we can tell the original fiberglass body has never been hit or damaged in any way. The correct Roman Red paint is absolutely gorgeous and has been polished to a deep lustrous shine. All of the chrome, & stainless steel trim is in show quality condition throughout. Please look closely at the photos to see how beautiful this Corvette truly is. The original white top was showing a bit of wear & tear, so we are in the process of installing a brand new white vinyl top from Al Knoch which will be finished this coming week (I will be posting photos of the new top shortly). The original hard top also goes with the car, although it needs some restoration work. She rolls on original 15" steel-wheels w/ the correct faux-spinner hubcaps, wrapped w/ Coker Classic radial tires (P205/75/R15) all the way around. The undercarriage is unrestored, exceptionally clean, and in very well kept condition throughout (see photos). When you open the driver's door, you will find the factory correct red bucket-seat interior that will bring you straight back to 1960. The interior has been beautifully restored throughout and is absolutely gorgeous as you can see. Everything appears 100% factory stock w/ the exception of the aforementioned custom red 3-spoke steering wheel which is much smaller in size and gives you quite a bit more room to maneuver. All of the original gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. are in perfect working condition. Pop open the hood and you'll find the rebuilt 283ci/250hp motor looking just as it did back in 1960, dressed in Chevy orange w/ its factory original finned Corvette valve covers & factory air cleaner. The motor is linked to the factory correct 4-speed transmission linked to the original rear-end w/ 3.70 gears. Again, this beautiful 1960 Corvette Convertible is very much a well-kept survivor that has been meticulously maintained over the years which is readily apparent the minute you lay eyes on her. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle and she runs & drives beautifully in every way. The custom-built aluminum radiator keeps her runnign nice & cool, even in 100+ degree summer weather. She is a blast to drive and gets a ton of attention no matter where she goes. This little red Corvette that can be shown at any national level car event, but it can also be driven and enjoyed to the fullest w/out worrying about reliability. I definitely consider this 1960 Corvette Convertible to be a huge bang for the buck, and I guarantee that it will put a huge smile on the new owner's face!
