1979 Chevrolet Corvette L-82

Low mileage, estate sale, L-82 Corvette looking for a new home. Ordered new by a GM employee on 10/78, it was only driven occasionally by the owner, maybe even to church on Sundays, until he passed away. It's gorgeous in White on a Red interior with T-roofs, and comes with excellent documentation. Someone is sure to adopt this one quickly, so call or come by and check it out. Shark nosed Corvettes always looked good, and they still do these... days. White just seems like the right color for this car. It just seems to shine brighter and stand out proudly from the crowd. The headlights, a key element to the looks of these cars, close tightly, nicely disappearing into the front end. And that sets the tone for the rest of the car. Tight and right. The doors fit right with consistent gaps to the body panels. The T-roofs fit tight and the car looks like the awesome coupe it is when they are in place. But take them off and stow them, and you have instant open-air motoring. An L-82 hood has a nice little power bulge to it and announces the powerplant underneath it. Crossed flag emblems grace the hood, fenders and gas cap. The hatchback glass flows smoothly into the rear of the car and the rear bumper wraps everything up aerodynamically. The whole car sits on those YN90, optional aluminum wheels the car was ordered with. As if you didn't notice the glow from the outside already, when you open the door of this car, the interior will knock your sox off! It's absolutely stunning in Red and is the perfect complement to the white body. The seats are leather, super comfortable, and just invite you to have a seat in them. They are like new, maybe better, because like new blue jeans, they have had just enough time to get broken in. Remember, there is less than 20,000 on them! Everything is stock, looks good, and works properly. Power window and locks, cruise control, and AC. The speedo shows the 19,772 actual miles on the car, and the critical engine gauges are in the center console just above the factory radio. Behind the seats, there is plenty of room under the hatch along with some nice storage wells too, and with all that room, this would be a nice sports car to travel in. As a completely stock vehicle that was the pride and joy of an ex-GM employee, you know that it has been well cared for and received routine maintenance. Lift the hood, and this collector's car looks like a time capsule. The 350 cubic-inch L-82 motor is numbers-matching correct, and is original right down to the factory decals. A little TLC would yield great benefits in the appearance department under the hood, but starting with a low mileage, unmolested Vette provides a good amount of motivation to detail it out nicely and become familiar with your new ride along the way. Power is transferred back through a 3 speed, TH350 automatic to the rear wheels that put it on the ground through an independent rear suspension. 4-wheel disc brakes provide the stopping power to haul this car back down from speed, and the independent front suspension provides the control Vettes are famous for. The car sits on 255/60R15s in the back, and 225/60R15s in the front, all mounted on those slick, optional, factory alloys. This is a fun, powerful, and comfortable, sports car with room in the hatch for luggage, looking for a new home. Why not adopt it and head off on a family vacation?
