1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS

Someone in the GM styling department mixed this stunning color of paint, called it Tripoli Turquoise, and, for one year only, painted the best-looking car Chevrolet had at the time. During the refresh and rebuild process, numerous things were upgraded. But no-one even considered changing the original paint color.
Roll in anywhere with this car and people will notice. Roll down the street and they may strain their necks trying to get a better look at it before it disappears into the ether. The paint will grab their attention initially, but then the bumblebee stripe and the power bulge hood quickly follow. They may not have immediately noticed the RS blackout grill and hideaway headlights, because that is the beauty of it. It's a clean, subtle look. One that is sought out by many Camaro fans. A pencil thin front bumper underscores that grill nicely and tasteful chrome and brightwork dresses up the rest of the car too. Wheel wells are highlighted with it and connected front to rear by rocker trim. Door handles, mirrors, and the trim around the windows all shine brightly. Minimal badging includes the "rally sport" script on the front fenders, and "RS" on the front grill and gas cap. All this beauty sits very nicely on polished 17" American Racing alloy wheels.
Open the door and you will find a very fresh and clean interior. This car was delivered with from the factory with a black interior, but in this refresh, it was enhanced with houndstooth cloth inserts in the seats for improved comfort and a great look. As with the outside of the car, the polished trim on the inside adds nice highlights. You see it first in the horizontal lines on the door panels. It also outlines the overall dash, has chromed A/C vents, and trims out the beautiful woodgrain center dash panel and console. Set into that center console is a Kenwood head unit which is connected to a CD changer mounted in the trunk with Kenwood speakers mounted in the back shelf. Below the stereo is a set of aftermarket gauges that keep accurate tabs on critical engine functions. But the real fun begins when you grab hold of the 3 spoke Chevrolet steering wheel with one hand, and grab the horseshoe shifter in the console to drop it into gear with the other.
At that point, you have engaged a ZZ4 V8 crate motor from Chevrolet Performance with 355 horsepower and over 400 ft. lbs. of torque. Open the hood and check it out. This is a Corvette derived motor that has a 4-bolt main bottom end, roller cam, and aluminum heads with Tuned Port Injection. It's hard to see the Hedmann long tube headers and Bosch cold air intake, but rest assured, this engine breathes freely because of them, and you can hear it when you stomp on the gas. This engine looks good too, thanks to the nicely polished finned plenum, intake runners, and finned valve covers. Proper maintenance is evident in the engine bay with a newer compressor, condenser, and alternator, along with newer belts and hoses. A 4-speed automatic sends the power back to American Racing wheels and 255/40R17 tires. Power front disc brakes work through the 225/45R17s in the front insure that you can haul it back down to a stop quickly.
Check out this beautiful Tripoli Turquoise Camaro RS. Then start turning heads as you drive it home.
