Up for sale is a 1967 Indianapolis 500 Replica Pace Car. This would be a good project car. The body is in excellent shape.Some minor body/rust damage has been completed on the body. RePaint is in good shape. It has always been a Texas Car. It was originally sold new in Athens Texas (near Dallas) in May of 1967. I bought it from the original owner in 198, hence a 2 owner car. Around 200-300 Pace car replicas were made in Norwood and Los Angeles plants. This car was made at LA and has all the correct trim tag info for a replica.Only about 60 LA pace cars have been identified.The motor is original and has been rebuilt, and was running when I put it in the garage and hasnt been started in the last 15 years.The convertible top will need to be replaced.Almost all the parts are there with the exception of the front and rear bumpers and the carburator. There are many NOS parts including all of the outside emblems.I have some options that the car did not come with that will be included upon completion of the sale.The car is well documented with a nonoriginal copy of the original title, POP protectoplate. I have a letter from The International Camaro Club (now defunct) stating it is a replica. It was listed in the Chevrolet Indy Pace Car Book. At that time it was 1 of 2 with air conditioning known.Since then I know of 7 pace cars that have ac. A car similar to this is being featured on the Velocity Channel.
