1965 Chevy C-10 Long bed
350/400TH
Just like most shops into cars/trucks we like to have a designated vehicle that we can tinker with and make our own. This truck was shipped roughly a year ago from Garden City Kansas. I had one intention and that was to build a truck for when we were slow that we could mess around with and create something cool that was functional. I know the hype is for short beds but I always felt trucks look lower the longer they are plus its an 8FT bed! we can move our motor cycles/ramps/gear and piles of lumbar with the tailgate closed.
We had no intention of doing any body work so all I really cared about was a cool original 60's color with very minimum rust. Underneath this truck is solid. The roof has a more rusty look that we added but just for consistency. We ripped out the incomplete 283 and saginaw 4 speed and installed a rebuilt 350 LT1 with a rebuilt TH400. The engine runs and sounds healthy. The trans shifts on point as well and is mated to a Lokar mid height shifter.
We try to incorporate all our local sources for each truck so M&A upholstery matched a 60's Camaro Hounds tooth on to our factory bench seat. Rankin Glass installed new glass and seals front and rear. The wheels are real deal vintage staggered slots with bias tires. New lights front and rear that function properly and this includes turn signals. The fuel tank is new with a new sender but the gauge does not function. Could be the gauge which I have others or ground, have not checked.
CPP front springs, spindles, shocks, and converted to power disc. Rear is springs, shocks and relocation kit. The driveshaft was custom and all joints are new. The rear was disassembled, gone through and the brakes are new and we hooked everything up including cables for the e-brake but need the central link for the front/rear cables to connect.
The body has farm used bumps and bruises but as stated before it is super clean underneath, this girl was a work truck in the dirt and avoided the salt we typically see here.
I only drive this truck around here in West Chester to pick up or deliver parts. It has not cruised a long journey as of now. I am listing it because its going to get cold out again and I have other trucks to keep warm this winter and reinvest our time and money into. This truck and a couple others will be going into storage for the winter so I am giving it a shot before the new year.
Needs: We usually build a reclaimed bed but did not as of yet. A couple gauges do not work, the carb leaks a little out the rod. It appears to be intermittent but this is reasons why I do not drive this truck more often. Well the tires are why also, they look cool but they are less function and should be replaced if you plan on making this more a driver. Its more display for us. The drivers door is a little sticky while opening/closing.
We did hook up a toggle for the Aluminum rad which is two electric fans, mason jar catch and license plate holder. The heater core and blower motor are brand new. The controls are in need of attention, something I am remembering as writing this that it all should work but I did not confirm it yet.
The wing window is etched cannibis, really cool subtle detail that we installed too the truck. The radio in my opinion had to fit in its original spot with turn knobs and I think I found a cool functional unit that answered that task. The dual mufflers cut out in front of the rear wheels. It sounds awesome! (reminds me of Christine the movie when shes coming home after a hard night of work).
I have shipped many trucks like this too other countries, I am very familiar with the process and two ports are within 2hrs of my location. Shipping in the US I can also get you a fair quote as well. My broker is fast and very fair and is fully insured.
The truck still retains it KS title which is free and clear. If it needs to be a PA title in my dealership name, I need a couple days to process and receive from the state.
Any questions feel free to ask, we did all the work. Any low offers with your opinions on why should be sent to my GFY inbox and I will make sure to process them correctly.
Thanks for looking and happy Halloween!! perfect orange pumpkin for your holiday!
