1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

For sale in our Chicago showroom is a very eye-catching 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. 1955 was a great year for automobiles and Chevrolet introduced the first of a 3 part series of smaller vehicles that became known as "Tri-Fives". At a time when a gallon of gas was only 23 cents and the average house was around $22,000 a base model 1955 Chevrolet could be purchased new for just over $1,700. The Bel Air was the top of the Chevrolet line and those choosing that option package were treated to a luxurious interior, ample stainless and chrome trim and upgraded V8 engine option with Powerglide transmission.

From any angle the '55 Chevrolet was a crisp and clean looking car and the Bel Air was dubbed in advertising to be "The Hot One". The grillwork was inspired by Ferrari and the sleeker design was a refreshing change from the old rounder bodies of cars of the early '50's. This Coral over Shadow Gray beauty features a deluxe interior in the same shades as well as a fully restored original dash and polished stainless throughout.

Long gone is the small V8 that has been replaced with a 383 Stroker and is mated to a Muncie 4-Speed transmission making this car tremendous fun to drive at any speed. The restoration quality on this '55 is amazing and this car was built to be driven and enjoyed. New parts include the engine, transmission, flywheel, clutch, tubular control arms, coil over shocks, radio, power steering pump and steering box along with all steering components and a 2 1/2 Inch stainless steel exhaust.
