1972 Chevrolet Chevelle malibu 350

For sale isa 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible thathas had only one owner. This is atrue survivor, unmolested all original car with a one owner we got the car in April from SC but decided to sale it due to family problems. The ownerwas an GM engineer for 30 years and this car was one of the vehicles that GM would lettheir engineersdrive while theykept stats on thevehicle'sperformance. Then they would have the first chance to buy it when it was time to turn it in for a different vehicle. So whenthe time came he decided to buy this one and leave itathis retirementhome in Hilton Head Island SC. This car has a lot of historyand documentation from the original receipt the day it was purchased to everything that was ever done to itmechanically. He kept thereceipts from every oil change and everyreceiptfromevery-timehe stopped to get gas along with what he got for mileage on each tank. As you can see in the picstheirs actuallyjotter books from the 70's when he would keep stats for GM on a daily basis. Thecar was built in Leed City KS and shipped to Cook Chevrolet in Canfield OH on 11/31/71. When he then started driving it on 03/24/72 until he purchased it from GM on 10/14/72 at whopping retail price of $2,829. He bought it thinking it would be a great car to leave at his retirement home in SC, where it spent the rest of its life. The car has only97,129 original miles on it with a clear now OK title. The car was always garage kept and well taken care of as a matter a fact the cars tophasn'tbeen up in years. I believe it has most of its original rare 65 code orange flame paint. The car has its normal dings and stone-chips for a 44 year-old car and is by no means a show car. The interior is great shape for its age other than the front seat cover that is tore from the seam. as I stated earlier the car is all original and is gonna need updating. It still even has its original Chevrolet bowtie floor mats and GM radio. Everything is in good condition for it's age, even the door-open buzzer still works. Car came with Cruise Control, Rear Defogger, Remote Mirror, Deluxe interior with Deluxe seat belts and a power top. The complete engine, trans and rear are stilloriginal to the equipment the car was born with.So it is the matching number's 350, V8, 350 automatic trans and 10 bolt rear end. It has power steering, and power brakes and runs and shifts good. It could use a carb kit because fuel is seeping between the gaskets after all these years so I would update a few things before I would travel the world. The car has a lot of its original hoses and clamps in the motor area and a new 4 core radiator was just replaced for theChristmasparade they had it in 2015. The original spare tire and jack kit is in the trunk as it should be just like it came form the factory. Things that have replaced in the last few years are: new battery, brake pads, starter, coil springs, calipers, wheel cylinders, radiator, ball joints tie rod ends and sway bar links. The engine heads had all the oil seals replacednormal tune up parts were installed. You will get all thereceiptsfrom all the work that was just done to the car along with all of the original paperwork that will come with it.(original order sheet, Bill of sale,2 build sheets, owner's manual, and the original sales brochures). As far as the body goes the car has bubbles in the paint behind the rear wheels where dirt and sand collect in the trunk. Maybe at one point you might want to put a patch in just behind the rear wheels. The trunk as you can see in the pics doesn't need a full pan but to have it perfect you might want to patch a few spots. Doors, trunk, trunk lip hood rockers are all solid. The rear floors are soft and could use some attention but solid to weld to. I think when he had the rust proofing sprayed in it held the moisture betweenitself and the original metal. Most people would just drive the car the way it is and others would do a frame off so it would really depend on theindividual. For a car that has never had a patch welded in it in 44 years it's in great shape. The top is original and is starting to crack it works fine and doesn't leak but I would replace it at some point. I took a bunch of pics and tried to describe it to my bestability and if you haveany questions, feel free to ask away. I want people to see what they are buying before they buying it. I even paid to put it up on a hoist to take better pics for you. also if you want to see the car in person you're more than welcome to come check it out. .You won't bedisappointed, how can anyone not like a flame orange Chevelle convertible with a white top and and white interior. I just wanted to add that this car shows on the build sheet that it came stock with the white stripes from the factory. It also came with a posi rear end, elec clock in the dash, remote mirror, power disc brakes rear defogger and its all still intactfrom the day it was built and hasn't been tampered with.
