1966 Chevy II Nova Sedan 2 Door - Rust Free

I have decided to place my 1966 Chevy II Nova up for sale, because of too many projects.

5/31/16 I revised the price with a reserve. I don't feel you could build this car for my reserve price. It is just time for to make up my mind to finish the car or move on to my other projects

This 1966 Chevy II Nova is a two door sedan, with a fresh 355 cu.in./350 auto transmission with 2800 rpm stall converter. The car was originally white with blue interior.I bought it because I could see that the factory quarters and rocker panels were all in great shape. This car was purchased in the south and the body has zero rust. Those who follow 1st generation Nova’s understand why being rust free makes this a special car.

This auction also includes the following list of all new in box parts:

·Gas cap

·Grill

·Black carpet

·Tail lights

·Head light bezels

·Door frame seals

·Door handle sets

·Trunk seal

·Rear view day/night mirror

·Rear view mirror stalk

·Side view mirrors

·Front bumper

·Rear bumper

·Bumper bolts

·Lock set

·Floor boards (Although I do not think the car needs them.)

The car has a new gas tank and sending unit. All of factory emblems and factory chrome, for around the rear windshield are included.Wipers work on both speeds, the dimmer switch and heater both work too.

Please note, the bumpers and fenders were hung in order to take the pictures. The car does need all new interior but it does come with the seats in the photos.

Mechanically: I have burned ¾ of a tank of gas through the engine.

·Fresh 355 cu.in. (350 bored .030)

·Four bolt main V8

·1978 block with 10.5 to 1 pistons

·Holley 600 carb sitting on a Weiand intake

·New Pertronix Flame Thrower distributor

·New Pertronix Flame Thrower coil

·New wires

·New starter

·New alternator

·New battery

·Full over axel dual exhaust system

Suspension:

·Power assisted rack and pinion steering

·Independent front suspension

·Manual front disk brakes

·Tilt wheel

The disk brakes and struts are from a 1986 Camaro, making parts easy to find.

I have driven the car down a few farm roads and it rides and handles well. I never owned a duce with this type of front end suspension and my take away was WOW. The original 1st gen Nova’s had well known suspension issues, so this upgrade is a great improvementI took a switch back curve at 60 M.P.H. and it ate it up. My new car doesn’t do that well on that switch back.

Wiring

The wiring is all original and in really good shape.

The only known issues notin factory shape;

·Driver’s side, rear turn signal socket has been replaced

·Power wire for the electronic ignition comes off of the ignition switch instead of the starter

·Do not have the horns

The alternator was upgraded so naturally the wiring has changed.

The car is complete other than, a patch on the passenger side floor board under the heater, a ding on the hood and a few missing bolts for the fenders. That is all I have found wrong with the body and floors.

1966 and 1967 Chevy II’s are getting hard to find, especially one that needs as little body work as this one. Chevy II Nova Sedans were more desirable to build for street or strip. The bodies arestronger thentheSS Nova’s. A lot of the 1st gen. Nova’s got cut up to drag race. Roll bars were installed and all of the other things people did to lighten them up to make them eligible for the drag racing circuit. This being basically a stock body makes this car an exceptional find.

I have described the car to the best of my ability so you decide if it’s the 66 duce for you.
