Description:

1970 Chevrolet C-10

1970 C-10 1/2 ton 4x4 Fleetside long wide bed. 1 family owner. Well maintained lots of records from the many years.
See photo of original purchase sheet from local Chevrolet dealer Fred Bauer Chevrolet which lists the engine as a designation TAT. From my research this is a 307 V8. From going through the receipts, and talking with the family, this truck has the original engine which has never been apart. Oil changes have been done about every 3000 miles for the life of the truck, amazing! Runs great, starts with no knocking or smoke. Gears shift clean. Rolls down the road and stops just fine. Could drive this most anywhere as it is.
Original price was $3681.95, including extras like wood bed $10.80, locking hubs $78.55, 4 speed trany $96.85, foam seat $123.70, gauges $10.80, such a deal. 2-speed transfer case was maybe standard.
Minimal rust, see the photos. Rockers and cab corners are solid. This is really surprising because it has spent it's entire life in or around Portland Oregon - the rain and drizzle capital of the Pacific Northwest - it has been parked indoors much of its life. Original paint in and out except the hood. Some dings from years of use. The only rusted areas are below the battery and on the fire wall passenger side above the heater motor I believe is what that is.
After-market items that I can see include steering wheel, seats that are in great shape, alloy wheels that may need to be shined up, extended side mirrors, air cleaner, valve covers, auxiliary fuel tank filler doors (tanks are gone, but 3-way switch-over valve is still there on left side of driver seat on the floor). Engine does not have headers but the exhaust has been separated into two tailpipes, mufflers and turnouts behind each rear wheel which makes it sound better. Tailpipes and muffler look to be stainless steel.
Panels and roof liner look great.
Original wood bed is rotten and shows some of the original green color. The metal touching the wood is very rusted but the bed sides are great as well as the skirts below the bed level. The bed also appears to possibly not line up quite right with the cab, kind of low in the front, maybe a spacer is gone or adjustment is needed.
Gearing and other information would have to be gleaned from the purchase sheet because I don't know such things as the gear ratio, etc.
No sheet metal is needed if you want to restore it, so the hard work is done. I drive it, it's tight, brakes and clutch are all in good working order. I can deliver the truck to a pickup point within 50 miles for shipping if necessary. Truck is available locally for sale also, so if you're interested please contact me and we can arrange something.
As noted on the purchase sheet this has all the gauges, also Motorola AM radio, the glove box door is sticky but inside the glove box is very solid. The padded dash is cracked, see the photos.
There are wear holes in the floor mat that looks original, the stick shift boots may have been replaced but most likely not - they are in good shape.
Both doors are slightly sprung and the windows are a bit sticky when rolling up and down after all these years.
The hood and grille was damaged at some point. You can see the hood was either repaired and painted poorly or may have been replaced. Either way the paint on the hood is the worst on the whole truck. Also you can see the hood is not lined up quite right.

Got a few questions, here are some answers:
Very drive-able, fly in from your home state and drive this puppy home!
Under-carriage is very solid, forgot to get pictures.
Brakes lines appear to be wrapped in what might be split rubber tube and zip tied for extra protection, I've never seen such a thing.
