The 1953-1955 Corvette design was meant to be the dream car/concept car for the General Motors Motorama. The design was so popular that Harley Earl called to have the car put into production almost immediately. By the end of 1953 the very first editions of the Corvette were rolling off the line. The 1954 Corvettes were basically identical to the 1953 Corvette except for the date on the title. Both of these years came in one and one only motor option. For those who don’t know the six cylinder Chevrolet Corvette engine that was used in both of these years is the same basic six cylinder engine that was designed before 1932. While it was highly dependable and super rugged it was also super slow. The 1955 Corvette came out with the 265 c.i. V8 that added a lot power but by today’s standards it was still super slow.

So today we find collectors who desire the almost identical appearance of the first edition Corvette but they want it with ‘GO Power” and some call this concept Retro Rods.

As for the tire size P225/17R15 on the back and P215/17R15 on the front the reason for this is steering is easier with the size difference.The Seller
