1975 Cadillac DeVille

This car is in really good shape for its age. I am 99% sure that the mileage is correct. This car is a true "Little old Lady" car. Bought new from Lindsay Cadillac in Virginia by a man who owned a radiator shop. There are some service receipts that show the mileage slowly increasing over the years until the man died with about 75000 on the dial. His wife kept the car, which was far to big for her to drive, in a shed and her son drove it around the block once a month for about 10 years. When I picked it up I drove to the nearest tire store and bought 4 new tires and then filled up the tank and drove straight home to north Carolina, about 250 miles without a single hiccup. I have done some stuff. Cleaned up the vacuum lines, adjusted carburetor, new water pump, swapped steering gear box to a quicker ratio for more "road feel" cleaned up the interior, built a custom center console and gauge panel (still have all the original parts if you want to put them back. The good: The engine and transmission start and run strong and smooth like a new car. It is a real blast from the past to mash your foot to the floor on a 5200 pound car, 20 feet long and feel a 500 c.i. engine accelerate this floating living room in a way that no modern car can duplicate. It is pure excess at its most delicious. These drive trains are notorious for being unbreakable unless severely abused. The interior is in quite good condition. Only the driver seat shows wear. The door panels are not perfect but I have fabricated custom arm rests which hides the worst cracks and improves the driving position (for a 6'4" guy anyway). New original equipment Delco shocks all around make pretty close to a factory original marshmallow-like ride. Pure heaven. All the chrome is in excellent condition.
The bad: This car really needs a paint job or all of the blue. It doesn't look horrible at a little distance, especially after a really good buffing. But up close you can see the age. There is no body work that needs doing.
I am going to hold firm to $3500 which I still feel is too low but I recently acquired a very rare triple black 1976 Fleetwood Talisman so my wife says "no way" to keeping two 40 year old Cadillacs. Doesn't mean I have to give it away, though
