1968 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham - Only 63K Original Miles
I am the 3rd owner of this 4 door luxury sedan that comfortably sits 6 adults with ease. It has a 472 cubic V8 engine rated at 375 hp, turbo hydramatic transmission, and has less than 63,000 original miles! I purchased this vehicle just at 61,000 miles from a retired police officer in the Senior Community by my house. He said he only used this car for parades.
I've owned all sorts of custom vehicles and I have never had as many looks as with this car. I could probably write a book from the stories I hear at red lights, at gas stations, and at stop signs. Not to mention all the thumbs up I receive from both the young and old while driving around town. As the photos prove, if you ever wanted a car with character or if you ever wanted a car with presence, look no further!
This Caddy is LONG! You need room to park this, which is the reason why I'm selling - takes up all the garage space and am tired of hearing wife complain there's no room in the garage since she just purchased a new car for herself.
Work Performed to the Interior
I've had the entire interior upholstery professionally updated including the seats, doors, headliner, and carpet. The interior consists of three complimentary colors (blue, cream, and brown) that give the interior a dramatic yet classic look as evident from the pictures. This car has been garage kept since purchased (and previous owner did the same), so the dash is perfect. There are no cracks or peeling - all original. To enjoy the beautiful weather, the interior includes a custom headliner for the 40"x55" three fold sliding ragtop. The ragtop was installed by the manufacturer of ragtops here in Phoenix, Arizona to ensure proper installation and leak free use. I also have the original floor mats with the Cadillac crest which will be included with the sale of vehicle.
**Note(s) - The clock does not work. Unsure as to why. I did not want to take the dash apart to try to pinpoint the problem. And the rear passenger power window does not roll up from the driver's seat, but works fine sitting in the back seat. I had all the wires checked and some replaced so I'm taking it that it's the switch for the rear window on the driver's door that needs to be rebuilt (the up function does not make that window go up).
Work Performed to the Engine & Braking
Since I wanted the car to be as dependable as possible, I've had all the necessary work performed to the engine and braking system as well. Some of this work performed includes: New spark plugs & wires, electronic igniter, distributor cap, electronic distributor coil, oil & filter, rebuilt carburetor, new battery, left & right rear wheel cylinders, left & right calipers, brake pads, left & right brake line hose, wheel seals, thermostat, PCV valve, brake fluid, vacuum hose, flushed radiator, and new valve cover gasket.
**Note - The AC system is complete and needs to be rebuilt or converted to current R134A.
Work Performed with Music & Alarm
As far as the stereo system goes, it consists of all matching Kenwood amplifiers and Polk Audio DB speakers. This system has no problem hearing the music with the ragtop fully open! This system includesa Kenwood 60 x 4 watt RMS amplifier powering 2 Polk Audio DB 6 ½" component speakers with 1" liquid cooled tweeters (mounted in front vents for concealment) and 2 Polk Audio DB 6x9 coaxials. The entire system is controlled with an Eclipse CD Navigation head unit and secured with a Clifford alarm combined with a motion detector and hood pin switch. This sound system and alarm was professionally installed (all receipts included with sale of vehicle will be included).
Work Performed to the Exterior
Being a 40 year classic, there are some minor dents and scratches. You can tell the owner before me was getting up there with age since the two dents are at the ends of the car - driver's side rear fin and passenger side front chrome bumper (see pictures). There are additional matching hubcaps that will be included with the purchase of the vehicle as well. The paint still shines as shown in the pictures, but this small investment in new paint is preventing it from being a top of the line classic. With this little investment in new paint, this Cadillac can easily sell at a profit or make for nice cruising classic.
The latest addition to this vehicle consists of new tires. This includes 4 BFGoodrich Silvertown tires at 235/70/15. These include the classic wide white walls. These are not your typical off-the-shelf tires but had to be custom ordered and were well worth the wait. These tires included a 4 wheel alignment when purchased. In addition to the Silvertown whitewalls, I also purchased a brand new 225/70/15 all-season spare tire for the trunk.
**Note - The two dents at the ends of car noted above and as evident in photos.
I have the receipts for all of the work & accessories installed on this vehicle that will be provided with the sale of vehicle. I will be happy to work with you & your shipping company if need be. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.
Has been valued by all my insurance carriers for $20,000.
