This Healey 3000 is the automotive artwork that I completed this past season. Several months were spent finishing this long term restoration that has been off the road for many years. It has become an automotive sculpture, as a new and fresh Austin-Healey 3000 MK III PHII BJ8; right from my showroom... ready for your living room!
It is a SUPERCAR...heirloom quality! They made very few, and those that still exist, few are in this state. It is something that would be awesome to cruise and share with the kids or grandkids, and would create lifelong memories.
The last of the 3000 series, the MKIII PHII BJ8 model represents one of the most sought-after and collectible of all the classic British Sports-Cars. Its legacy in the rallies of the 60's created a legend that lives on in the high price that the final of the "Big Healeys" command. The BJ8's are the most luxurious, weather tight, and powerful of all the Austin-Healeys. They have steadily increased in value since the 60's and continue to do so. This would be a great investment vehicle for someone with a passion for classic sports cars who wants a well sorted out car, but not have to do all the work to get it there...
There are several levels of Healeys currently listed on E-Bay; This example stands on its own in many ways... The NEW components were gone over and installed this calander year!... so the rubber components are fresh! The NEW convertible top comes with a manufacturers warranty! Engine.... Fresh engine mechanicals. I did the initial fire-up;pre-lubed with added zinc andan initial burntime of 20 minutes at about 2000 RPM. Oil drained, then New filter, oil, and zinc.

Freshly rebuilt HD8 Carbs, synchronized with dual gauges.

Transmission: interiorhas been glyptoled andhas crisp clean gears. Oildrained and overdrive sump strainer cleaned; New oil,overdrive has been adjusted.It cleanly shifts through the gears, andin and out of the A-type overdrive.

Misc:Detailed rear end,New clutch hydraulics, New Hydraulic resivour,New exhaust system, New fuel pump, NOS fuel tank, painting and detailing throug-out,new grommets through-out.
